Gretchen Ong Ho (born April 19, 1990) is a Filipino television presenter and former volleyball player.
She competed for volleyball for the Ateneo Lady Eagles from 2008 to 2013, where she was a member of the "fab five" who helped Ateneo win their first back-to-back UAAP finals appearances (seasons 74 and 75).
She spent time with the Petron Blaze Spikers in the Philippine Super League (PSL) from 2013 to 2015, where she helped the team win the 2014 Grand Prix Conference.
Ho moved to television after completing a double degree in management engineering and communications as well as a minor in development management from Ateneo de Manila University.
She debuted as one of the hosts of Gameday Weekend, a sports magazine showcase on Balls and ABS-CBN Sports+Action.
She currently works as a anchor, segment host, and field reporter for several ABS-CBN services, including Umagang Kay Ganda, TV Patrol, The Score, and University Town.
Career
She competed in varsity volleyball at Immaculate Conception Academy-Greenhills in high school. She attended Ateneo De Manila University for 5 years while attending college. She competed in professional volleyball for two years, as well as the PSL Beach Volleyball Cup in 2015. She is one of Beach Volleyball Republic's co-founders.
On May 22, 2017, Ho became the Philippine ambassador for Health and Nutrition of the humanitarian relief, growth, and advocacy group World Vision.
Ho has also spoken out on various social issues. "That's the media's job in a democracy: to keep power in check," she said in 2018. In 2020, she joined many others who have pleaded for the government to announce concrete plans to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines.
