Gosho Aoyama (born June 21, 1963) is a Japanese manga artist best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in English speaking countries as Case Closed).
His various manga series have a total of 200 million copies in print worldwide as of 2017.
Educational background

Career
With Chotto Mattete, he made his debut as a manga artist, which was published in the journal Weekly Shnen on Sunday in 1987. He began Magic Kaito in the same journal just over a year ago. Kaito Kuroba, the magic Kaito protagonist, appeared in Case Closed later.
Aoyama created the series Yaiba, which ran for 24 volumes between 1988 and 1993. Later this year, he'll publish Third Baseman No. 4 and Gosho Aoyama's Collection of Short Stories in a single volume.
Detective Conan began serializing in Weekly Shnen on January 19, 1994. Case Closed was the first English version of the series when it was first published in English.
