On Day One of the Saudi-backed Aramco Series, Manon de Roey battles the elements to lead

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 14, 2022
ISABEL BALDWIN AT TRUMP LINKS, NEW YORK: The event was held at Trump Golf Links in Ferry Point, Bronx, sandwiched between views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River. However, Annie Park of the United States said she felt in Scotland, not her native New York, amid the blustering weather. Extreme link conditions would not be the first thing associated with the bright lights and city riots of the Big Apple, but De Roey of Belgium would not have to fight the wind and the rain on her way to shoot a flawless bogey-free first round of 68. The effort saw her rise to the top of the leaderboard in Bangkok, where she clinched her first LET victory earlier this year. World No. 1 is the world's highest figure. Nelly Korda's shot herself into a strong position after shooting a round of 70 to finish second in the individual competition, alongside Sweden's Madalene Sagstrom, who was two shots off the lead set by De Roey.
