Godfrey C. Danchimah, Jr. (born July 21, 1969) is an American comedian and actor who has appeared on BET, VH1, Comedy Central, and feature films, including Soul Plane, Original Gangstas, Zoolander, and Johnson Family Vacation.

During the '7Up Yours' commercial campaign, he was also a '7up yours' spokesperson.

On the first season of The It Factor, a reality television show, he appeared as a cast member.

He appears at the Comedy Cellar in New York City, where he is a regular performer.

Mr. Stubborn and Mr. Xie is also known for doing the voices of Mr. Stubborn and Mr. Xi. Tall (Season 2) in The Mr. Men Show and hosting Bullseye is an FOX game show.

On SiriusXM, Godfrey hosted his own radio show until he decided not to continue with the show on July 1st, 2019.

In Godfrey We Trust, a podcast that he hosts and owns on the Gas Digital Network.

Career

In the early 1990s, Godfrey honed his stand-up routine at the All Jokes Aside comedy club in Chicago. Godfrey made his New York debut at Carolines on Broadway and Comic Strip Live in 1995, and the William Morris Talent Agency followed him shortly. He began working in television, first behind the cameras as a warm-up comedian for Cosby and Soul Man. He appeared on NBC's Friday Night Videos as a stand-up comedian, followed by more small television and film roles. Godfrey appeared on the Aspen Comedy Festival and on Comedy Central's Premium Blend in 2000. He appeared in the film Soul Plane as an African pilot. He has appeared on several episodes of BET's Comic View, as well as several others.

In New York, he continues to do film and television work alongside his stand-up career. "Godfrey: Black by Accident" was shot by Comedy Central on January 22, 2011 at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City to a standing room only audience.

His appearance at "F*ck les varietes," a part of Montreal's Just for Laughs 2012 festival, was highly acclaimed. He had his own solo performance called "The Godfrey Complex" at the same festival for a week earlier this year.

On August 12, 2016, he fired "Godfrey: Regular Black" in Chicago, his home town.
