Early life

McCuen, who was raised in Houma, Louisiana with his older sister, Courtney, was active in karate until the age of 8, when he decided to follow in his older sister's footsteps and started training gymnastics. Glenn McCuen Career

Career

McCuen began his WOGA journey in Plano, Texas, at the age of ten. McCuen quickly climbed to eighth place in the United States National Gymnastics Championships in the 14-15 division in 2007, and the 2008 Texas State Gymnastics Championships were balancing his schoolwork and training seven hours a day in the gym under gymnastics coach Sergei Pakanich's tutelage. "I had a dream," McCuen told journalist Dave Walker of The Times-Picayune of his aspirations as a gymnast. "I wanted to go to the Olympics and win a gold medal." However, McCuen suffered a serious back injury in 2008, requiring him to miss a year of training, effectively ending his hopes of winning gold.

McCuen began acting at the age of 14, when a talent scout approached the gym looking for a boy who could do a flip for a lightsaber toy commercial. He auditioned for the role and gained the experience, and it was then that he discovered he had a passion for acting and modeling. McCuen modeled for famed photographer Bruce Weber and appeared in advertisement campaigns for Abercrombie Kids, Dillard's, JCPenney, and Neiman Marcus among others.

McCuen began attending Cathryn Sullivan's Acting for Film school in Lewisville, Texas, in 2006, and in 2008, after an injury that put an end to his Olympic preparations, he began to investigate the possibility of a full-time career in film. McCuen graduated early from Plano High School and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career just one week before his 18th birthday. He was first introduced to a talent agent at a party in early 2009, and within a week, he had a presence. McCuen began training at the Michael Woolson Studio in 2009 and began studying acting at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio.

McCuen appeared in the 2010 independent film A Bag of Hammers, and was next cast as Bodie, the heart-throb surfer opposite Caroline Sunshine in the 2010 motion picture Marmaduke. McCuen first auditioned for a role on Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush after first filming a pilot for Nickelodeon. Despite the fact that he didn't get the role, he was invited back a few days later to read about another new Nickelodeon film, Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures, which was aimed at the tween-targeted kid comedy. McCuen landed the role and Nickelodeon premiered in July 2011. McCuen portrays John "Aloe" Aloysius, a egotistic teenage "golden boy" surfer who appears as the antagonist to the titular pair, opposite Taylor Gray and Dillon Lane respectively.
