Early life and education
Philips was born in Miami Beach, Florida, to an Italian father and an Ashkenazi Jewish mother. She attended the University of Pennsylvania but dropped out mid-years early in order to pursue acting. Nevertheless, she was allowed to walk through graduation with the rest of her graduating class because she was just one class shy. Jenna Miller, Philips, is known for her recurring appearances on David E. Kelley's Ally McBeal as Sandy Hingle and Boston Public as Jenna Miller. Career
In Deadly Invasion: The Killer Bee Nightmare, Philips received her first supporting film role. On March 7, 1995, it appeared on the Fox Network. Philips appeared in Unforgivable as Tammy, the daughter of an intimate father. On CBS, the film premiered on April 30, 1996, but received no critical acclaim. Born Into Exile's Holly, a 14-year-old runaway, was the first lead role in the film.
In the 2001 horror film Jeepers Creepers, Philips was cast as a lead. Critics gave the film mixed feedback. Philips had intended to appear in Jeepers Creeper 2 as Trish Jenner, but the plot was changed dramatically during script rewrites, with Philips dropping what had previously been a minor character. Her next film was the Anarchist Cookbook, which received mainly critical feedback.
She appeared in the low-budget horror films Dead & Breakfast and Jennifer's Shadow in 2004. Philips appeared in Ring Around the Rosie, a low-budget horror film in 2006 as a young woman plagued by horrific visions and hopes of tragic past events when spending time at her grandparents' secluded summerhouse. My Baby Is Missing and The Sickhouse Horror Film starring Jennifer Shelden next year. On January 7, 2010, the film was released as a DVD under the name Stolen Innocence.
