Gina McKee Life

Georgina McKee (born 14 April 1964) is an English actress.

She received a BAFTA Television Award for Best Actress for Our Families in 1996, as well as subsequent nominations for The Lost Prince (2003) and The Street (2007).

Caterina Sforza in The Borgias (2011) and The Forsyte Saga (2002).

Notting Hill (1999), In the Loop (2009), and Phantom Thread (2017) were among her film appearances.

Early life

McKee was born in Peterlee, County Durham, as the daughter of a coal miner, and grew up there, as well as nearby Easington and Sunderland. In her last year at primary school, she had her teacher finish the week off with improvisations, her first experience of acting. McKee and her friends decided to attend after seeing a poster in a shoe-shop window for a new youth drama group, initially not keen, but later became enthusiastic. McKee's first professional appearance was when she was working on Quest of Eagles, a Tyne Tees children's series.

McKee spent three summers in London with the National Youth Theatre from the age of 15. With her parents' blessing, she decided to apply to drama schools rather than art colleges after completing her A-Levels at East Durham College. Despite this, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and the Central School of Speech and Drama had her not rejected her.

Personal life

McKee has been married to Kez Cary since 1989; the couple lives in East Sussex, England. Since 1982, she has been a vegetarian.

McKee received an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from the University of Sunderland in 2002.

JAN MOIR: I've been trying to figure out what the point of the Royal Family any more since the Queen's death. Is that correct?

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 22, 2023
JAN MOIR: Since the Queen died, I've been wondering what the point of the Royal Family any more. Is that wrong? And my adoration as this regal, dutiful, much-loved matriarch left us for the grand palace in the sky. The well-meaning but essentially ho-hum next generation, the second tier on the crumbling cake, and the monarchical subs' bench, is all we are left with now. If concerns about their personal and collective roles in the United Kingdom are raised, the question of their significance becomes even more relevant when they venture abroad.

These photos of Harry Styles and Emma Corrin filming "My Policeman" are worth revisiting

You're almost excited for the debut of his new film, "My Policeman," for anyone who has ever had a 1950s-style daydream starring Mr. Harry Edward Styles. We offer these "My Policeman" set photos to you in the lead-up to the exciting announcement, as you take a look at the filming process. Styles was captured on May 3, 2021, filming an intimate scene with costar Emma Corrin. We're going to be emotionally devastated if Corrin was investigating Styles right before the pair's kisses. Styles caught up in a love triangle between his wife, played by Corrin, and a man he encounters at a museum starring David Dawson, based on Bethan Roberts' 2012 book "M.M. Forster."

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Planning palaver for canned Kwasi Kwarteng

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 18, 2022
EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: After he cleaned up the brickwork at his new house without first obtaining authorization, former Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng was forced to request retrospective planning permission from his local council. For retrospective permission to clean the façade of his early Victorian villa, which he and his wife, Harriet, bought for £1.7 million, Kwarteng had to petition Greenwich council. Two anonymous critics said a'criminal offence' had occurred because council permission had not been sought at the time of the investigation.
