Career

Gershon attended the Square Professional Theatre School in New York, first with David Mamet and later with Harold Guskin and Sandra Seacat, who have described her presence in interviews as "a great influence." She appeared in stage productions of Camille and The Substance of Fire, her first professional appearance.

She is one of the founding members of the New York-based theater group Naked Angels.

Sally Bowles in Cabaret's revival; in the resurgent of the sex farce Boeing-Boeing; and Rosie Alvarez in the 2010 revival of Bye Birdie at the Roundabout Theatre Company.

Her debut in Pink (1986) started with a little bit of pink (1986), which culminated in more prominent roles in Sweet Revenge, Cocktail with Tom Cruise and Elisabeth Shue, and John Sayles' urban drama City of Hope (1991). She appeared in Lenny Kravitz's music video "Again" in the Cars 1984 music video "Hello Again" and sang with Andy Warhol and was a cameo in "Hello Again" as a child actor.
