Advance Wars' blending of war and Saturday morning cartoons takes some getting used to, particularly because some of its characters appear to be teenagers, yikes and zoinks at enemy bombing raids. However, once you've gotten used to it, you'll find one of the best strategy games ever created. As it turns out, I aspired to Advance Wars a decade ago - when it first appeared and became one of my all-time favorites. This Nintendo Switch version is a redesigned version of the first two games in the series, with crisper graphics and smoother gameplay, as well as a few new additions.
