Gabriel Contino (Portuguese for "Gabriel the Thinker") is a Brazilian rapper, writer, and composer best known for his intellectual lyrics, which focus on protests, politics, socioeconomics, social injustice, and the Catholic Church.

Gabriel began his music career by releasing a demo tape featuring the song "Tô Feliz (Matei o Presidente)" on which he said, "I killed the President") which eventually got him a deal with Sony Music.

Since then, he has released eight albums: Ainda É Só, Quebra-Cabeça, Nádegas, Declarar, Gabriel o Pensador, Seja Viola Mesmo (mas na o Mesmo), MTV ao Vivo, Cavaleiro Andante, and Sem Crise (this last one was released alone).

"Diário Noturno," "Um Garo Rorbeto," and "Meu Pequeno Rubro-Negro" are two of Gabriel's books: "Diário Noturno," "Meu Pequeno Rorbeto" and "Meu Pequeno Rubro-Negro" were also published.

The "Prêmio Jabuti" of the best Children's literature was named after "Um Garoto Rorbeto" was selected.
