Victory for free speech: Christian arrested for preaching by 'ridiculously heavy-handed' police wins £5,000 from cops

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 13, 2024
A Christian street preacher has been awarded compensation for his unlawful arrest as a result of an unfounded homophobic 'hate crime' incident. Since being unlawfully arrested for just over an hour, police Scotland has had to pay £5,500 to Angus Cameron. The former pastor of Cumnock Baptist Church in Ayrshire received £9,400 in legal fees, along with the Christian Institute, which supported him during the litigation. In January 2022, the 52-year-old was preaching in Buchanan Street, Glasgow, when officers ordered him to stop immediately. The evangelist said he was handcuffed, searched in the presence of passers-by, and then held in a police van for less than an hour.

Franklin Graham, Billy Graham's son of religious persecution, receives a £97,000 reward for religious persecution

Franklin Graham (left and inset), 70, had been set to appear in Glasgow on May 30, 2020 as part of a larger UK tour. Following significant public backlash, the event was cancelled in January 2020, with the Scottish Event Campus citing security risks. Former US President Donald Trump's gay liberation policy, Graham, calls homosexuality a'sin,' and advocates for 'gay conversion therapy.' Billy Graham, the late US evangelist, who died in 2018 aged 99, argued that canceling his performances was a "right of religion issue as well as a free expression problem." The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) has argued that the SEC broke Equality Act by not allowing Graham to perform.

Rev. Queen Elizabeth II, father of the Christian faith, was a 'true friend of the faith,' according to Franklin Graham

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 9, 2022
Rev. Franklin Graham, Billy Graham's uncle, has expressed disappointment in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II's death, saying that his father's lifelong companion was a "true friend of Christian faith." Graham, the founder and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, reflected on the Queen's tragic death on Thursday at the age of 96. "I am extremely sad to learn about Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's death,' Rev. Graham added to Fox News Digital that she has been a'symbol of stability and steadfastness for the UK for 70 years.' Billy Graham recalled the friendship between the Queen and his father, Billy Graham. 'The Queen was a mentor to my father, but more importantly, she was a faithful friend of the Christian faith,' he said. 'She will be greatly missed.' According to a note on the website, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has a long history of serving in London, and Billy and Ruth Graham have visited with the royal family on several occasions.
