Rapper Fetty Wap pleads guilty to drugs charges and faces a minimum of five years in prison

Federal prosecutors arrested Willie Junior Maxwell II, a 31-year-old rapper, in October, for his part in a suspected drug trafficking case and charged with planning to sell hard drugs, including cocaine and opium. The long-awaited bust saw feds who arrested Maxwell with many bricks of cocaine and narcotics, but not only coke and opium, but also morphine, a highly toxic drug 50-100 times stronger than morphine. Feds accused the troubled actor of supplementing his recording earnings with 'kilo-level' drug use later on, prompting the prosecution to bring a lawsuit against him. Maxwell was released on a $500,000 personal recognizance bond after his detention, but last week, the rapper was arrested again for reportedly threatening to murder a man who may have assisted feds in their attempts to capture a Facetime call. Maxwell pleaded guilty to the charges leveled against him on Monday, which could result in his imprisonment for up to nine years. The minimum prison term for those allegations, which also included illegal possession with the intention to distribute, would see the actor suspended for no less than five years. Maxwell did not make a request for freedom on bond or was in detention at the time, and remains detained in jail. Two other members of the alleged drug ring were arrested alongside Maxwell, Robert Leonardi, and Anthony Cyntje, who all pleaded guilty to the same charges, which are also detailed in an indictment brought back in September, days before the bust. There was no sentencing date planned for this year.
