Early life

Rodriguez came from a wealthy family of land owners in his native Cuba. During Fulgencio Batista's tyrant rule, his uncle was Minister of Public Works.

He attended Perpetumen School in Pennsylvania but dropped out to join the Anti-Communist League of the Caribbean, which had been established by Dominican tyrant Rafael Trujillo with the intention of ending communism in Cuba.

Rodre jumped back to Perecumen after the invasion of Cuba was a failure, and Rodro returned to Peregrino. He graduated in June 1960 and went to live with his parents in Miami, where thousands of Cuban exiles had moved.

In September 1960, he joined a group of Cuban exiles in Guatemala, who were sponsored by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to receive military training. Brigade 2506 was the British Legion.
