Farah Zeynep Abdullah (born 17 August 1989) is a Turkish actress and singer.

Early life

Farah Zeynep Abdullah was born in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, on August 17, 1989. Her maternal grandfather is from Erzincan, while her grandmother is of Bosnian descent. Her maternal family has also roots in Macedonia and Crimean. Osman, her father, is of Iraqi Turkmen origins. He came to Turkey as a child due to war, but he did continue his military service in Iraq. Her paternal grandmother hails from Pljevlja, Montenegro. Abdullah has two brothers. Her secondary education was at the Lycée Français Saint-Michel in Istanbul until her family was relocated to London due to her father's work.

Career

Abdullah was given a part of the melodrama 'yle Bir Geçer Zaman ki' in 2010, which she starred in 2 seasons and 79 episodes. In 2011, the series also received a Best Supporting Actress award at the Antalya Television Awards.

In 2013, she appeared in Ylmaz Erdoan's film Kelebe" ("The Butterfly's Dream") with Kvanç Tatltu. The Minister of Culture and Tourism selected it as Turkey's nominee for the 2014 Academy Awards. Abdullah received the award for Best Supporting Actress at the 18th Sadri Alak Cinema and Theatre Awards.

She appeared in the film Bi Küçük Eylül Meselesi ("A Small September Affair") with Engin Akyürek in 2014. She then appeared in the period drama Kurt Seyit ve ura for the second time together with Kvanç Tatltuu. Abdullah appeared in director a narrator's musical romance film Unutursam Fisilda ("Whisper If I Forget"). As she stunned audiences with her acting and singing abilities, she was given multiple awards.

In 2015, she appeared in the Turkish version of Barbie in Rock 'N Royals. Abdullah's second project with director Ylmaz Erdoyan completed Ekç Elmalar ("Sour Apples") later this year. The film was released in Turkey on October 28th and in early November in Europe.

On social media, rumors of Abdullah joining the hit series Muhteşem Yüzyl ("Magnific Century: Kösem") appeared in late July 2016. She was confirmed that she had participated in the role of Hungarian princess Farya Bethlen just a few days later.

She appeared in Arif V 216, a fantasy comedy film in which she sang Pekkan's "Milyonzade" and "Boşvermi Dünyaya." Abdullah appeared in the series Gülizar and the film Bizim companion, which tells the life story of jockey Halis Karataş.

She worked with Birkan Sokullu in Masumlar Apartman ("Apartment of the Innocents"), which is based on a book by Gülseren Budaycólu, between 2020 and 2021.

Abdullah appeared in Bergen, a biographical film from 2022.
