Life and career

Patrick Dolan and Abbey Gardner, Dolan's daughter, migrated with her family to New York City at the age of four and began acting at the age of five. Dolan debuted at the Kid City Theater in 2007.

Dolan created Katie, the fifth grade bass player, in School of Rock at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York at age 11, and is best known for the "bass face" in School of Rock. In the off-Broadway workshop of School of Rock, Dolan portrayed Katie in the Gramercy Theatre in New York in June 2015.

Dolan appeared in the Drew Gasparini and Alex Brightman's latest musical interpretation of Ned Vizzini's "It's Kind of a Funny Story" off-broadway in the spring of 2017. Dolan performed "Did You Know?" with Colton Ryan of Dear Evan Hansen as Leila's little sister. Dolan appeared in the Gasperini/Brightman musical The Whipping Boy.

In the one-night revival of Henry, Sweet Henry, Pia Zadora's at Feinstein's/54 Below in June 2017, Dolan revived the role created by Pia Zadora.

At the Centennial Gala in September 2017, Dolan performed "Aquarius/Let the Sun In" from the musical Hair of the American Theatre Wings. The gala raised a record-breaking $1.2 million for the group.

At a special gala performance of The Phantom of the Opera's 30th anniversary at the Majestic Theatre on January 24, 2018, Dolan performed alongside fellow School of Rock alumni Brandon Niederauer, Ethan Khusidman, Raghav Mehrotra, Stefan Jöback, and the original Christine Daaé Brightman.

Dolan attended the record-breaking American Theatre Wing gala in honor of EGOT Andrew Lloyd Webber's Initiative Legacy Fund, which raised over $1.6 million. Dolan performed the bass as part of a "mega-band" made up of fellow School of Rock alumni Brandon Niederauer, Ethan Khusidman, and Raghav Mehrotra.
