Early life
Hewson was born in Dublin, Ireland, and the second daughter of activist Ali Hewson (née Alison Stewart) and U2 lead singer Bono (Paul David Hewson). Her name is derived from her age and date of birth (7 am on July 7th), as "eve" is the word that refers to "seven" in the middle. She has an older sister, Jordan, and two younger brothers, Elijah and John. She studied at the Dublin School Project and St. Andrew's College in Dublin and New York University. The song "Kite" was inspired by a moment when Bono brought a kite up on Killiney Hill with Hewson and her sister, but the kite blew away and smashed.

Hewson lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She graduated from New York University on May 22, 2013; her father, Bono, declined an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from NYU on the same day.

Career
Despite Hewson's parents' rejection of her appearance, she made her debut in 2005 alongside her sister Jordan in the short film Lost and Found. In 2008, she made her feature-length debut at The 27 Club. Hewson appeared in an acting class at the New York Film Academy last year. "For the First Time" was her first appearance in the music video and accompanying short film for Irish band The Script.
In the 2013 thriller film Blood Ties, she played Yvonne. Fans of The Hunger Games and Hewson asked people to support them fund a new film called Roadies in July 2013.
