Evan Farmer Career

Career

Farmer was refused to join Russia's highest selling band in 1997, Na Na (also written Ha Ha Ha). Farmer joined them on a stretch of their 1997 World Tour: Prykinda, which featured stadium appearances throughout the Soviet Union. Eventually, a farmer decided not to join the band due to fears of being out of the country for lengthy stretches of time, even as his mother was fighting cancer.

Farmer was back on stage playing stadiums and arenas, this time with the spoof Boy band 2gether, which included opening for Britney Spears on her 2000 Oops! I did it Again Tour.

For 2gether's first album 2gether, the farmer co-wrote "You're My Baby Girl" and was uncredited co-writer on several of the songs for the follow-up album 2Ge+her Again.

Farmer's agency in New York City began representing Abrams Artists Agency and began booking roles as a print model and actor in national commercials and on soaps, including a recurring stint on the Guiding Light.

Farmer appeared in the original Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks in 1998 as Matt (The Boy) in its 38th year, marking a rich tradition in the country's longest-running musical and longest-running uninterrupted exhibition of any kind.

Farmer spent the early part of the day testing out 8 shows in The Fantasticks before beginning to cast him out to LA for screen tests. He appeared in Shaft alongside Christian Bale in 1998.

Jerry O'Keefe, the lead in MTV's first made-for-TV film, 2gether, a film that mimics the mockumentary style of This is Spinal Tap, but this time as a parody of the popular teenage bands of the time period, although it wasn't until filming Shaft that he earned his lead role as Jerry O'Keefe. The film's high success prompted a television version of the same name, as well as two back to back gold albums 2ge+her and 2Ge+her. After the tragic death of cast member Michael Cuccione, the television series was cancelled at the end of season 2.

In 2000, Farmer auditioned for the role of the Young Dr. The evil in the third of the Austin Powers franchise, Austin Powers in Goldmember, was only evil in the room, but the casting directors saw him walk in the room and immediately handed him the audition paper for Young Number Two, the part originating by Robert Wagner and also portrayed by Rob Lowe. Farmer Anthony was the third actor to step into the role.

In addition, the farmer has appeared on JAG, Working Class, DAG, and DAG's cartoons; Daria and Celebrity Death Match.

It was while Farmer was in New York City promoting the TV Series 2gether that he discovered hosting as a potential new career move when the makers of Total Request Live (TRL) rang him in frantic need of a replacement host for Carson Daly, who was unable to attend the live broadcast. Farmer started from his hotel room and hosted the live stream, his first time in this role. Farmer began putting more effort away from acting and toward Host, a field he found much more rewarding and interesting over the next year.

Farmer was in a prime position to use his building and architecture experience to create a burgeoning home makeover segment, and he was the host of TLC's When You Were Out, a show where an individual selects up a surprise room renovation with the help of a team of designers and carpenters in only two days.

Farmer took over as host of CMT's weekly show, Top 20 Countdown, for which he was also a producer, replacing Lance Smith, who served as a producer for eight years. During reorganization at parent company Viacom, the show came to an end in 2013.

Farmer produced two television pilots as Host during this time; the first for A&E's Dance Marathon and the second for CMT's Dance Revolution, neither of whom gained traction.

In 2015 Farmer filmed the pilot episode as the Host of a new series for United Airlines and AFAR Magazine titled In Residence: London, which aims to give viewers a "insider view" of travel destinations handled by the airlines.

Bride vs. Bride, a short-lived reality game show that aired on We TV in 2006, was hosted by a farmer. He has appeared on Over the Top Holiday and FreeStyle.

Farmer appeared on CMT Radio Insider, as co-host and co-director of the Lisa Dent and Ramblin' Ray Show from 2010 to 2013.
