Ernie Lively (born January 29, 1947) is an American actor and mentor, as well as the father of actor Eric Lively and Blake Lively.
Personal life
Elaine Lively, a lively married talent manager, married in 1979 (née McAlpin). They were the parents of Blake and Eric Lively, both actors. Lori, Robyn, and Jason Lively adopted Elaine's children from her previous marriage.
He and his wife were living in Heber City, Utah. Lively suffered a heart attack in 2003. Lively was treated with stem-cell therapy as part of an experimental retrograde gene therapy program in November 2013.
Lively died in Los Angeles of cardiac problems on June 3, 2021.

Ernest Wilson Brown Jr. was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Beatrice Gray (1927-1994) and Ernest W. Brown Sr (1919-2007).
Lively is best known for his appearances in Passenger 57, The Traveling Pants' Sisterhood, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. He portrayed the father of a character played by his own real life daughter, Blake, in the latter two films.
Lively's credits as a character actor go back to the 1970s, beginning with television appearances on shows including The Waltons and The Dukes of Hazzard. He appeared in films including Turner & Hooch, Air America, Passenger 57, and The Beverly Hillbillies, as well as classic TV shows like The X-Files, That '70s Show, and The West Wing. He appeared in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in 2005, and he reprised it in 2008. Lively was also a director, directing Blake in her film debut, "Sandman"; a father of five, he influenced all of his children as they pursued acting careers. Lively was also a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.
