Career
Paslay also signed to EMI Records Nashville in mid-2011. "If the Fish Don't Bite," his first two singles, "Never Really Wanted" and "If the Fish Don't Bite" dropped to the top 40, his third, "Friday Night," was a top-five hit on Country Airplay in early 2014. Lady Antebellum produced the song, and Paslay's version appears on his self-titled debut album, which was released in early 2014. In "Song About a Girl" and "She Don't Love You," the album continued to produce two more singles.
Jake Owen co-wrote "Barefoot Blue Jean Night," Will Hoge/Eli Young Band's "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," and Love and Theft's "Angel Eyes," three of which were number one singles on the country charts.
