Enrique Peña Nieto Life

Enrique Pea Nieto (born 20 July 1966), also known as EPN, is a Mexican politician who served as the 57th President of Mexico from December 1, 2012 to November 30, 2018.

He served as Governor of the State of Mexico from 2005 to 2011, as well as Secretary of Administration from 2000 to 2002. Born in Atlacomulco and raised in Toluca, Pea Nieto, attended Panamerican University, graduating with a B.A.

Legal investigations have been conducted.

After receiving a M.B.A. degree, she obtained a M.B.A.

He began his political career by joining the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in 1984.

Since being a public notary in Mexico City in the 1990s, he began an ascension into local political ranks, culminating in his 2005 bid for Governor of the State of Mexico.

He promised to provide 608 compromisos (promises) to his constituency at varying levels of success as governor.

His tenure was marked by low-to-moderate support for his treatment of a burgeoning murder rate and various public health problems.

He began his 2012 presidential campaign on a platform of economic growth and open government.

Pea Nieto was elected president with 38.1 percent of the vote after doing well in polls and a string of high-profile candidate withdrawals. Pea Nieto was instrumental in a prolific breakup of monopolies, liberalized Mexico's oil industry, reformed public education, and modernized the country's financial controls during his first four years.

However, political gridlock and allegations of media bias have gradually increased corruption, homicide, and the drug trade in Mexico.

He endorsed the multi-lateral Pact for Mexico, which slowed inter-party conflict and resulted in increased government control throughout the political spectrum.

Global declines in oil prices and economic recession of the 2010s have made his economic reforms moderately fruitful, with Pea Nieto's decreasing political support for him.

His capture of the Irmán mass kidnapping in 2014 and his release of drug lord Joaqun "El Chapo" Guzmán from Altiplano jail in 2015 sparked international outrage. His presidency's historical records and approval rates are mixed.

Detractors cite a string of failed policies and a strained public presence, while supporters praise greater economic growth and loosening of gridlock.

He began his tenure with a 50% approval rate, hovered around 35% during his inter-years, and finally dropped to 12% in January 2017.

He left office with a disapproving rating of only 18% and 77%.

Pea Nieto is one of Mexico's most controversial and least popular presidents.

Early life and education

Enrique Pea Nieto was born in Atlacomulco, State of Mexico, about 55 miles (89 km) northwest of Mexico City, on July 20, 1966. He is the oldest of four siblings; his father, Gilberto Enrique Pea del Mazo, was an electrical engineer; his mother, Mara del Perez, was a schoolteacher. He is the nephew of two former governors of México: Arturo Montiel on his mother's side, and Alfredo del Mazo González on his father's. He learned English at Denis Hall School in Alfred, Maine, during one year of junior high school in 1979. Pea Nieto's family and his family immigrated to Toluca, Mexico, after being in Atlacomulco for the first 11 years of his life.

In 1975, his father would often accompany him to the campaign rallies of Mexico's governor, Jorge Jiménez Cant, a close friend of Pea del Mazo. Alfredo del Mazo González, a cousin of Pea Nieto's uncle, was the governor's replacement. Pea Nieto, the fifteen-year-old Pea Nieto's first direct contact with Mexican politics during his campaign in 1981, was the turning point and start of his deep interest in politics.

Pea Nieto, a child in 1984, graduated from Panamerican University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in legal studies. Pea Nieto's academic thesis was discovered to have some incorrect citations and plagiarism, which triggered controversies in May 2016. Pea Nieto, a Mexican University, obtained a master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monteres (ITESM), which is based in Monterrey, Mexico.

Personal life

Pea Nieto married Mónica Pretelini (1963–2007) and the couple had three children: Paulina, Alejandro, and Nicole. Pea Nieto had two children outside of his first marriage; a son with Maritza D'az Hernández; and another child with an undisclosed woman who died as an infant. Pretelini died on January 11, 2007 as a result of an epileptic episode. During Pea Nieto's governorship, Pretelini played a supporting role. Pea Nieto began working with Televisa soap opera actress Angélica Rivera, whom he had hired to help with publicizing his political campaign in Mexico in 2008. In November 2011, the couple married in November 2011. Rivera announced their divorce on February 8, 2019 after his time as president ended.

Pea Nieto, the cousin of Alfredo del Mazo Mazo Maza, the current governor of Mexico, of whom his grandfather, father, distant uncle Arturo Montiel, as well as Pea Nieto himself, have previously served as governors.

Mexico has received a request from a US extradition for a notorious drug lord connected to the assassination of a 1985 DEA agent

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 16, 2022
Rafael Caro Quintero, who is accused of the 1985 murder of DEA agent Kiki Camarena, Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has filed a request for his extradition, according to Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The petition comes a month after security forces arrested the 69-year-old infamous drug lord in Sinaloa's northwestern state. Caro Quintero was arrested in Choic, Sinaloa, almost a decade after being released from jail and returned to heroin trafficking, but not in the same manner as he shared the defunct Guadala Cartel's control.
