Enes Kanter Career

Professional career

Kanter served under Serdar Apaydn's leadership for the Fenerbahçe youth squad from 2006 to 2008, and then, during the 2008–09 season, he was a seldom-used reserve for the Fenerbahçe senior team. He appeared in at least nine games with the team, four in the EuroLeague and five in the Turkish Super League. Fenerbahçe and the Greek League basketball team Olympiacos both agreed to Kanter professional careers, but he turned down because he wanted to play high school and college basketball in the United States.

Kanter moved to the United States in 2009, where he enrolled at Stoneridge Preparatory School in Simi Valley, California, and played for the basketball team from 2009–10. Kanter played for the international team at the 2010 Nike Hoop Summit, scoring 34 points and 13 rebounds. His point total was a record for the event, defeating Dirk Nowitzki's record set in 1998. Kanter was rated as a five-star prospect by Rivals.com and Scout.com, the highest possible rating.

Kanter said he committed to play for the Washington Huskies on November 23, 2009. Kanter preferred Washington over UCLA, USC, Indiana, and UNLV. However, he resumed his recruitment in February 2010 and Kanter accepted a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball for Kentucky on April 14, 2010.

Nonetheless, although he signed with the Kentucky Wildcats, the NCAA ruled him ineligible as a student because he received over $33,000 from Fenerbahçe in excess coverage. This amount was above and beyond what was considered acceptable by the NCAA. The NCAA dismissed Kentucky's appeal on January 7, 2011, finding that Kanter was permanently ineligible.

In the 2011 NBA draft, Kanter, a center, was drafted third overall by the Utah Jazz. "I'm so excited, I'm so excited." Upon being drafted. The Utah Jazz followers are crazy, and I adore them. For EuroBasket 2015, Kanter was left off the team's roster. Kanter claimed that the dismissal was due to his friendship with Fethullah Gülen and his support for the Gülen campaign, although coach Ergin Ataman said Kanter was not suspended because "he did not apologize to colleagues for past infractions." Kanter also believes that if he wanted to go to Turkey to play, he'd end up in prison, which would be killed by the national government, and a fake poisoning incident will be born.
