Born 10 May 1987, Emmanuel Chinenye Emenike (born 10 May 1987) is a Nigerian international footballer who plays as a striker for Belgian club Westerlo.
Personal life
Emenike married former Nigeria winner Iheoma Nnadi in 2016. In August 2017, the couple welcomed their 1st child. On March 13, 2020, they had their second child. Emenike is the cousin of Daryl Dike, a US international and West Bromwich Albion striker.
Club career
Emenike began his football career with Delta Forces. He had many challenges at the club. Even though it could take an hour and a half, he walked on foot to training and back. He also refused the club's funds, so he wasn't paid on a regular basis.
He would make his first salary when he arrived in South Africa later in his career. In January 2008, he joined the Mpumalanga Black Aces, the South African National First Division team, and he made his debut against Dynamos F.C. On February 17, 2008. In his first game with the team, he scored his first goal on his debut, but the Black Aces lost the match 4–2. He was a member of the Black Aces team that lost against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final.

Emenike was called up to the Nigeria national football team for a friendly against Sierra Leone. He was called up to Nigeria's 23-man team for the Africa Cup of Nations. He scored in Nigeria's first AFCON match against Burkina Faso in a 1–1 draw on January 21. He also scored the first goal in the quarter final match between Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire, which Nigeria won 2–1. In the African Cup of Nations, Emenike scored a 30-yard free kick, giving his country a 2–1 victory over Côte d'Ivoire.
He was the third Nigerian team to win the African Cup of Nations in 2013 – Nigeria's first continental victory since 1994.
