Life and career

Teshome Mitiku, the Ethiopian popular singer, is Rydberg's father. Malena Rydberg, a Swedish woman, is her mother. Adolf Fredrik's Music School in Stockholm took her as a student.

Lars Anderson, the son of ABBA's manager, Stig Anderson, discovered Rydberg in 1996. Emilia was her mononym in the first years of her career, but Emilia Mitiku has emerged recently under the name Emilia Mitiku, based on her father's surname. She appeared in Melodifestivalen, Sweden's national selection for Eurovision Song Contests, in 2009. She rose straight from her heat; however, she came in ninth in the final. In 2009, she launched My World, a narcotic. On June 2, 2009, her single "Teardrops" was announced to radio stations. Szerelemre hangolva, her duet with kos Dobrády, "Side By Side" (Szerelemre hangolva) was released in both Hungarian and English languages the same year.

Emilia's "We Found Love" was a cover story of Rihanna's "We Found Love" for a studio session in Stockholm that was released on YouTube. "Lost Inside" was released on June 25, 2012.
