Ed Bassmaster Career

Career

Bassmaster began filming in 2006 and gained widespread attention in 2015 when he and fellow YouTuber Jesse Wellens' faux surveillance video purporting to reveal the death of the Canadian hitchhiking robot hitchBOT, whose real-life footage was not shot. The video deceived some news companies.

Skippy, one of Bassmaster's characters, was unannounced on stage during the YouTube Comedy Week live event in 2013 and was kicked out of the event.

Producers Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley announced that their company, DiGa Vision, was a CMT-TV series in which Bassmaster will play his characters and prank people as he does in his YouTube videos. It debuted on April 14, 2016.

During a shooting for a new video paid for by Rockford, Illinois-based company Insurance King, Bassmaster would ignite controversies at the 2019 Indiana 250 race. During the case, he'll play Chip Diamond and then deviate from the track, causing a jumble of distractions and chaos (including kicking tires in the garage area and walking out of the driver's meeting). Bassmaster was banned from participating in any other sport for life by NASCAR, the sanctioning body that ran the event. In reaction to the ban, Bassmaster Will say, "Like I give a rat's ass!"

Ed has started his own podcast on his YouTube channel, which debuted on October 31, 2019. Steve-O of Jackass was his first official guest on the program.
