In 2003, Elf made a comeback and became a holiday staple. Walter Hobbs, the no-nonsense businessman who is trying to integrate into the modern world, is his true father (James Caan). Walter is his true father, according to his reluctant husband Emily (Mary Steenburgen) and son Michael (Daniel Tay). Since Elf's holiday film took over the world by storm, a lot has happened.

Scenes from the Disney film Uproar have gone viral online as fans discovered what seemed to be a mistake in an animated montage depicting Carl and Ellie's lives together at the start of the film. Russell, the elderly man, is being followed on film as he travels to Venezuela with boy scout Russell. The user @wietpeukjes posted screenshots from both scenes and said he had just noticed the mistake and apologized on Reddit.

Carl from "Up" is trying his hand at modern dating in the forthcoming Disney+ short film "Dug Days: Carl's Date," which premiered on Netflix on Feb. 10. Carl is expected to attend his first date since the death of his beloved wife, Ellie, in the short, which is part of the "Dug Days" animated film. In addition to "Carl's Date" being a major step forward for the widower, it also marks Disney's first return to the "Up" universe after Ed Asner, Carl's voice, died at the age of 91 in August 2021. It's also unknown if Asner recorded the voicework for the brief before his death or if the role of Carl has been recast (since the shorts were mainly told from Dug's point of view). POPSUGAR reached out to Disney+ for clarification on casting news for the short period, but there was no immediate response.
