Eamon Farren, an Australian theatre, television, and film actor best known for his role in the revival of the Australian ABC television series Twin Peaks (1969) as Richard Horne and Carlotta (2014), for which he received the AACTA award in 2015 for his portrayal of transgender characters Danny/Ava.

Early life and education

Farren was born in north Queensland and raised on the Gold Coast at the age of six. "We had really great beach parties," Farren once described growing up in The Gold Coast. "We'd be enjoying ourselves all night with live music all night." They're the best parties I've ever attended." In an interview, Farren said he always knew he wanted to be a comedian: "I can't remember a time when I didn't watch a film and think, 'That's what I'm looking for'"... People said you must have a Plan B. I never felt that, but I always thought, nah, this is what I'm going to do." He attended Benowa State High School and participated in the French Immersion Program, which taught students traditional subjects but not enough in French. Farren graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2007. Daniel Day-Lewis and Gary Oldman are his primary influences and inspirations.

Career

Farren began his career in The Outsider, starring Naomi Watts and Tim Daly in 2001, then a guest appearance in the Australian live action film The Sleepover Club in 2002. He worked with many theatre companies in Australia, including the Sydney Theatre Company, the Griffin Theatre Company, and the Belvoir Street Theatre. He was born as Capt. In The Pacific, HBO's much-anticipated miniseries, John Powell appears.

In 2008, Farren appeared in The Man In The Attic, the film Lucky Country, and the Seven Network television series All Saints, including Farren's. He spent his time in the visual arts. He appeared in Jennifer Lynch's film Chained in 2012, portraying "Rabbit," a boy enslaved and raised by a serial killer played by Vincent D'Onofrio. "...... Farren said, "...... The film felt like second nature, but loose, funny, and poignant. "I never had to say too much to her [Lynch], she'd give me a look or whisper one word and I'd get it."

Farren's next big role was in the ABC TV show Carlotta, playing "Danny/Ava," a transgender mate of the main character, which earned him the AACTA Award in 2015 for Best Guest Or Supporting Actor in a Television Drama. "The whole thing was a highlight," Farren said of filming, but one of my favorite scenes to shoot was when Carol and Ava were on the way to purchase hormones for the first time – corpse never felt so right."

Farren's theatre career continued in 2014 with critically acclaimed roles as "Edward Ridgeway" in Switzerland and "Elliott" in Girl Asleep, which would be adapted to film and actor Farren as a distinct character, "Adam/Benoit Tremet," a year later.

Farren appeared in "Kirill" in Sydney Theatre Co's The Present in 2015, reprising the role in 2017 for the company's Broadway production, which also starred Cate Blanchett in her Broadway debut.

In the remake of the American television series Twin Peaks, Farren was cast as Richard Horne, which aired in 2017.
