Early life

Andrew McLean Galloway IV was born in Ayr on June 6, 1985. He grew up in Prestwick, where he attended Prestwick Academy. When he was younger, he considered himself to be a professional football player. He spent time with Prestwick Boys, mainly in defensive roles, before focusing on wrestling; he has named Bret Hart as his favorite wrestler. Galloway, a ten-year-old boy, read X Factor, a magazine that focuses on conspiracy theories and ghost tales, prompting him to write a letter to the FBI under the Freedom of Information Act, which the FBI responded by giving him a folder with several documents. At the age of 15, he began training for a professional wrestling career, and his parents accepted him as long as he gave the same amount of attention to his studies. He accepted and continued to earn a master's degree in criminology from Glasgow Caledonian University.

Galloway married American professional wrestler Taryn Terrell (also known as Tiffany) in July 2009, and the pair were married in Las Vegas in May 2010. In May 2011, they were divorced. Drew McIntyre Career

Professional wrestling career

After his family migrated to England and settled in Portsmouth, Galloway began training at the Frontier Wrestling Alliance's Academy at the age of 15. Despite being trained by Mark Sloan, as well as Justin Richards and James Tighe, the promotion's veteran wrestlers who were helping with preparation, including Doug Williams, Paul Burchill, and Alex Shane.

Galloway made his debut with the inaugural show of British Championship Wrestling (BCW), which is based in the Greater Glasgow area. While there, he refined his skills, working under Colin McKay and later Spinner McKenzie, and later on, he created the character of Drew Galloway, a cocky narcissist. His first match, which took place at No Blood, No Sympathy: Night 1, saw him lose to Stu Natt. He won his first match on a tag team match with Wolfgang, defeating Blade and Stu Pendous. Galloway was managed by Charles Boddington, who assisted him in his first major success and oversaw him for the next four years, by December.

Galloway hosted a series of matches against American veterans later this year. He lost to The Honky Tonk Man in June and then lost to Marty Jannetty and Highlander later that month, with Sabotage on his side. In a double countout match against D'Lo Brown in November, the aptly named Lo Down, Galloway main evented. He then had a brief string of feuds, as he defeated Jay Phoenix in March 2005, but their rematch in November, called by Mick Foley, ended in a no contest. Galloway lost then won in successive matches against long-time rival Sheamus O'Shaunessy in May 2006.

Galloway and Lionheart were crowned BCW Heavyweight Champion Highlander in November 2006, tagging with Wolfgang for the first time in East Kilbride. Galloway was in contention for the title at No Blood, No Sympathy IV in December, which was also listed as a "I Quit" match with Conscience as the special guest referee. He captured his second BCW Heavyweight Championship at the tournament. He held the title until 2007, winning charges against Martin Stone, Allan Grogan, and Lionheart before vacating the country in September.

Galloway started wrestling dates across Ireland with Irish Whip Wrestling (IWW), using "Thee" Drew Galloway as his gimmick, after gaining traction in Scotland. During his first appearance for Whiplash TV on July 23, 2005, Charles Boddington was still in his corner. Sheamus O'Shaunessy, who suffered to "SOS" sheamus O'Shaunessy, found a similar fate against Mad Man Man Man Manson, sparking a feud between the two characters. Despite these two losses, his international standing meant he was already booked in a Ten-Man Gauntlet match to select the top contender for the main title. Galloway was whitewashed the entire evening, losing to Vic Viper. Manson was absent during the Gym Wars the following day, so Galloway tried to revenge his death with O'Shaunessy but it came as a double count out. In a series of tag team and even handicap tag team matches against Manson and his teams, he recruited many wrestlers, even Boddington, as well as his boss Boddington. In October, he defeated Sean South in a warm-up for the main event six-man tag team match in the event. At IWW's final show from the SFX Theatre in November, the rivalry between Galloway and Manson was settled. Galloway earned esteem for his tenacity and tenacity, but his losing streak continued.

Galloway was soon granted a shot at the IWW International Heavyweight Championship due to his show stealing appearances with Manson. He won his first title match against O'Shaunessy on January 28, 2006, extending their rivalry from previous battles. Galloway's blue hues of Scotland clashed with O'Shaunessy's green colors of Ireland, echoeing the Old Firm's football derby between Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic, respectively. This football allusion became especially popular as the two teams clashed again at Verona Football Club for the title; even though the match was renamed to a Lumberjack match, the result and champion stayed the same. On March 18, O'Shaunessy won two falls to one and the next day produced the same result; two out of three falls matches against the champion took place. With their rivalry escalating, his next challenge to O'Shaunessy was made as a result of a Last Man Standing match, but the man retained the title, as he did in June with the same stipulation.

Galloway then defeated O'Shaunessy by defeating them in the IWW International Heavyweight Championship on August 28, 2006. Against Go Shiozaki, he defended the belt well. Galloway defeated Jody Fleisch in November, England, after the championship was moved to London, England. However, he was forced to withdraw from the tournament completely due to other commitments in his homeland and his academic studies.

Galloway made several appearances around the independent circuit as BCW's home country and he made regular appearances for IWW. He appeared at the fledgling International Pro Wrestling: United Kingdom (IPW:UK) in 2004, in a somewhat titled Show 2 at the aptly named Show 2. Despite losing to Aviv Maayan in his first appearance, by the time he returned in May 2005, his name had made him well-known enough to qualify in the nation's top event, the Five Way Elimination competition to determine the best of British heavyweights. Galloway was voted first by Andy Boy Simmonz with a small parcel pin. Galloway competed in numerous tours of All Star Wrestling, including TJ Wilson, PN Neuz, Chad Collyer, and Brody Steele in 2006. Galloway defeated Darkside and Allan Grogan in a three-way 30-minute Iron Man match on October 15, 2006, becoming the first ICW Heavyweight Champion. He dominated the sport for 280 days before losing it to Darkside on July 22nd, 2007, a five-man elimination match that also featured Jack Jester, Wolfgang, and Liam Thomson.

Despite being his only match (he was used twice) for NWA: Scottish Wrestling Alliance (NWA:SWA), Galloway represented Team SWA against Team Sinner in the final match of the 2006 Clan Wars tournament, losing first by Highlander who was using the ropes. He appeared at the inaugural event for Premier British Wrestling (PBW), winning a chance to become the first PBW Heavyweight Champion by defeating Allan Grogan but losing to Wolfgang in the main event. In October, he was entered in a competitive match to win another shot at the title but lost to Dave Moralez. Galloway's name went before him when he was placed in the Real Quality Wrestling tournament in 2006 (RQW). Not just for Christmas, but for the inaugural RQW Heavyweight Champion. Galloway, who was representing IWWW and having made his IWW Title defense against Fleisch earlier this year, defeated SAS Wrestling's El Ligero in the semi-finals but then fell short of One Pro Wrestling's Pact by counting out. He continued to compete in April 2007, bringing his rivalry with O'Shaunessy to London on a double count-out, which culminated in a rematch in June, where Galloway won the title in a Street Fight for the second time. Galloway made a statement with his victory over O'Shaunessy, then beating RQW Heavyweight Champion Martin Stone during his title defense against Takeshi Rikio later that evening. This result culminated in his last match in the United Kingdom in August's Summer Brawl, which he lost. On September 15, Darkside defeated Lionheart in a match that made him a contender for the championship. His last appearance was as a referee for PBW.

Galloway appeared at the inaugural Insane Championship Wrestling exhibition, which was sponsored by a young Mark Dallas. Galloway defeated Darkside and Allan Grogan in a triple threat match, making him the first-ever ICW Heavyweight Champion. He retained the title for 280 days, impressing Wolfgang and Allan Grogan before losing the championship to Darkside in a five-man tournament that also included Jack Jester, Wolfgang, and Liam Thomson. This was his last appearance for the company before 2014.

Galloway joined WWE in late 2007 and made his WWE debut on October 12, 2007's SmackDown episode. Drew McIntyre, a modified ring name, appears in the modified ring name. McIntyre, joined by his on-screen mentor Dave Taylor, defeated Brett Major with a roll-up, establishing himself as a villainous character in his first match. He defeated Brian Major with the assistance of Taylor next week. McIntyre was forced to Taylor and moved to the Raw brand, making his professional debut on the 6 January episode of Heat as a face, defeating Charlie Haas.

McIntyre went to Louisville for Ohio Valley Wrestling in September 2007, with his first match being a dark match after OVW TV, where he faced another developmental talent from the United Kingdom, "The Ripper" Paul Burchill. Despite Drew not being involved in a slew of memorable rivalries during his time in OVW, and then having to report to developmental in OVW, he continued wrestling regularly on OVW television & non-televised live events in the Kentuckiana area. Drew formed a tag team with future Wade Barrett, nicknamed Stu Sanders at the time, resulting in the very impressive "Brit Pack" at the time. WWE revealed in February 2008 that they would no longer be a part of WWE's developmental system.

McIntyre was relocated to WWE's developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, after his brief stint on WWE's main roster. (FCW). He reformed his squad with Stu Sanders, now known as The Empire. They face the Puerto Rican Nightmares (Eric Pérez and Eddie Colón), who claimed the match and a championship shot at the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship in April. Once the Nightmares won the championship, The Empire had two consecutive chances to win the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship on May 6th. They lost their first title to Sheamus O'Shaunessy, but their partner "Sterling Jack" Gabriel mistakenly hit them, retaining their title. On July 17, the Empire lost the championship to Joe Hennig and Gabe Tuft. McIntyre defeated Sanders in a singles match that resulted in a double count out and a time limit draw ended in a time limit draw on August 16th.

McIntyre was entered into the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship on October 7th, defeating Tuft to advance to the finals, but losing to Eric Escobar (the former Eric Perez). McIntyre ended the year with a failed bid for the FCW Heavyweight Championship in a four-way match, but Escobar claimed the title from O'Shaunessy.

McIntyre and Joe Hennig developed a rivalry in 2009, but they lost their first match in February in a double count out. McIntyre interfered in Hennig's match the following week, costing him the game. Hennig won the FCW Florida Heavyweight Championship from Escobar on February 26th. Their feud came to an end when Hennig vacated the title due to a head injury, boosting McIntyre to championship level, defeating Escobar for the vacant championship on 19 March. McIntyre maintained the title until about 11 June, when Tyler Reks (the former Gabe Tuft) claimed the title in his second attempt. McIntyre was supposed to team with O'Shaunessy against Hennig and DJ Gabriel, but O'Shaunessy's (the aforementioned "Sterling Jack" Gabriel) on June 25th, but O'Shaunessy refused to cooperate, and O'Shaunessy was forced to withdraw in a four-way, which O'Shaunessy won). In mid-July from Reks, McIntyre and O'Shaunessy lost their second attempt at the FCW Heavyweight Championship. McIntyre had a single chance the next day, with the same result.

McIntyre re-debuted on WWE television on August 28, 2009, defying his previous appearance on WWE television, and established himself as a villain as he entered the ring, using his latest double-underhook DDT finishing move, the Future Shock) (soon renamed Future Shock). McIntyre continued to criticize Truth over the coming weeks, claiming to be on the show to wrestle, not to party like R-Truth. On September 18, while Charlie Haas was waiting to face R-Truth, McIntyre came to the ring to tell R-Truth that he had been wounded backstage, and then assaulted Haas. WWE chairman Mr. McMahon introduced McIntyre as a "future world champion" who had personally signed, shortly after which Truth made a return assault against McIntyre on September 25. McIntyre defeated R-Truth in under five minutes again with his DDT finisher at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV). On the day, he met R-truth in a singles match and won by count out to represent SmackDown at Bragging Rights, but the entire squad, captains aside, was suspended, leaving McIntyre out of the game. McIntyre briefly feuded with Finlay in the same way as Truth with matches that are not starting properly until McIntyre won their final meeting in less than two minutes. McIntyre was one of the Miz' team on the traditional Survivor Series elimination match on November 22nd at Survivor Series. The Miz, the Miz, and his ex-girlfriend Sheamus were the surviving members of their winning team; McIntyre fired Evan Bourne and Matt Hardy; McIntyre cut Evan Bourne and Matt Hardy.

McIntyre met and defeated John Morrison a few weeks later, putting him in line for the Intercontinental Championship at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. (TLC). Morrison mocked McIntyre's Scottish roots by dressing as a Braveheart-inspired William Wallace on TLC's 13 December, but McIntyre pinned Morrison to win the Intercontinental Championship, his first appearance in WWE. He kept the title against Morrison and later against Kane by using underhanded tactics. On the 26 February episode of SmackDown, his televised undefeated record ended in a Money in the Bank qualifier against Kane, but Mr McMahon ordered SmackDown's general manager Teddy Long to expunge the loss. Matt Hardy was pinning an unsigned wrestler before being eligible for the ladder match. McIntyre failed to win the Money in the Bank match at WrestleMania XXVI on March 28th, his first WrestleMania appearance. McIntyre continued to criticize Matt Hardy until he was stripped of his title by Long and suspended for the purposes of the storyline; McMahon declared him champion the following week, undermining Long's authority, which caused tension between McIntyre and Long.

McIntyre met Kofi Kingston, who had won a tournament to select the new champion, but Over the Limits on May 23 May, losing the Intercontinental Championship after 161 days. Nevertheless, he continued to bully Long, publicly humiliating him and yelling him to lie down for their match. McIntyre defeated Kingston on June 20th in a rematch for the title at Fatal 4-Way. Long took over as the referee during the game but not until McIntyre had the match won that he did not make the three count. Kingston defeated McIntyre later that night, resulting in Kingston winning the game and keeping the trophy intact. The Nexus faction of Raw attacked McMahon, who was banned from television for a lengthy period and ended McIntyre's preferred treatment on June 21. Long, who lost to Matt Hardy on SmackDown's 25th June episode, McIntyre's, that his work visa had expired and that he would be deported back to Scotland immediately. Since Galloway's visa had already expired and as a result of this, he was barred from television.

After being told to beg Long, McIntyre returned two weeks later and was re-instated. McIntyre and Cody Rhodes won the WWE Tag Team Championship in a five-team chaos match on September 19th, allowing them to appear on both brands. McIntyre and Rhodes then retained their titles twice against The Hart Dynasty. McIntyre and Rhodes lost their titles to The Nexus (John Cena and David Otunga) and disbanded their team at Bragging Rights on October 24th. McIntyre competed in a 5-on-5 traditional Survivor Series tag team match against Team Mysterio on November 21, 1991 at the Survivor Series. Before being barred by the Big Show, McIntyre was the only man remaining on his team before being evicted. McIntyre was defeated by Big Show in the 40-Man Royal Rumble match on January 30, where he was eliminated by Big Show. He was in the SmackDown Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship on February 20, but Kane was disqualified by Kane.

McIntyre was introduced to the Raw brand on April 26th as part of the 2011 supplemental draft. McIntyre appeared on Raw and was limited to dark matches and Superstars; he last appeared in a Blindfold Match against Santino Marella, which he lost. McIntyre defeated Justin Gabriel on December 15th, earning him a contract with SmackDown. Long started his SmackDown brand on December 30th and revived his tense friendship with General Manager Theodore Long, who pressed McIntyre to win matches to defend his employment, and McIntyre's eight match losing streak continued into the new year, despite the fact that Long fired McIntyre within the storyline. McIntyre's guest general manager John Laurinaitis had him back to action by beating Hornswoggle a week later. He was later on sent to Laurinaitis' team in a 12-man tag team match at WrestleMania XXVIII on April 1, assisting Laurinaitis in winning Laurinaitis' ownership of both the Raw and SmackDown brands. He continued to lose games and was limited to Superstars and house shows, but he was also able to make many appearances on Raw and SmackDown, including squash matches.

McIntyre was inserted into the inaugural NXT Champion during the NXT's inaugural NXT tournament, where he lost to eventual champion Seth Rollins in the quarter-finals on 1 August. On the 7th November episode of NXT, McIntyre was also involved in a top-one contender fatal four-way elimination match, but Bo Dallas was defeated by Bo Dallas.

SmackDown, McIntyre, and Jinder Mahal joined Heath Slater and Brodus Clay in a match against Clay on September 21. The trio became known as the Three Man Band, or 3MB for short. McIntyre took over Slater and Mahal in tag matches due to a wrist injury. On 7 December, McIntyre recovered from injury after defeating The Usos and Brodus Clay. TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs on December 16th, after being on Miz TV and bersering the Spanish announce team, 3MB confronted The Miz and Alberto Del Rio to find a partner for a six-man tag team match later that night. Miz declared that they would be the Brooklyn Brawler and then defeated 3MB. The next night on Raw, 3MB lost to The Miz and Del Rio for the second time, this time as Tommy Dreamer's partner. In a losing effort, McIntyre and Slater competed for Team Hell No. (Daniel Bryan and Kane) for the WWE Tag Team Championship on December 31. McIntyre and Slater were also competing in the first round of the NXT Tag Team Championship tournament to crown the inaugural champions, but the inaugural champions were defeated by Adrian Neville and Oliver Grey on the NXT's episode on January 23rd.

McIntyre was defeated by Chris Jericho in the 30-man Royal Rumble match at Royal Rumble on January 27, 2013. On the 12th episode of SmackDown, 3MB attempted to hurt Triple H, but the Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns) refused to hurt Triple H, but The Shield denied them. The Shield was launched out on the 15th of April on Raw, 3MB, but Brock Lesnar was able to come out and assault the group instead. The Shield was blasted on 29 April by 3MB, but the Shield were quickly turned over by The Shield. As a result, Team Hell No chased The Shield away before assaulting 3MB themselves. 3MB began using new ring names against their opponents in late 2013, but their misfortunes and amounting losses stayed the same as before. McIntyre took part in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on April 6th, but Mark Henry was disqualified by Mark Henry. WWE revealed McIntyre was fired from his WWE contract on June 12, 2014.
