Personal life
His mother abandoned him as a child, leaving him in the custody of his father. His father was absent as well, leaving him in charge of his grandparents on his father's side (the Valerio's). When he was ten years old, his father took him back to his house by himself in the city rather than following him around the neighborhood. He served as a tailor, cabinet building, and as a Radio DJ before returning to music. His mother, Nabila Tapia, and the couple had just one child. In July 2012, he spent preventive time in prison in San Cristobal due to his ex-wife's accusing him of violence against her and of posting videos of her sexually compromising positions. He was released from prison in August 2012 after completing a RD$100,000 bail and his ex-wife was given a restraining order.
