Dominic Zamprogna (born April 21, 1979) is a Canadian actor and voice artist.
He is perhaps best known for his appearances on television shows Edgemont, Battlestar Galactica, and General Hospital.
Early life
Zamprogna was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Lou Zamprogna, the father of his dancer and choreographer, and he ran an acting school at Theatre Aquarius. Zamprogna is Gema Zamprogna's brother and Amanda Zamprogna's twin (both are actresses). He is of Italian descent.
Dominic, a child, loved soccer and basketball and aspired to be a small celebrity. He appeared in "The Tale of the Full Moon" and F/X2 as a child actor, as well as Befraid of the Dark, in which he played Rush.
He attended the University of Toronto briefly, but later decided that "I was not well at school work."
Personal life
Zamprogna married Linda Leslie, his longtime girlfriend, in Los Angeles on November 1, 2009. On October 19, 2010, his wife gave birth to their daughter, Anbilliene. On December 30, 2012, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Eliana. Adeline Pauline, the family's third child, was born on May 17, 2015.
Career
Zamprogna appeared in the film The Boys Club in 1997 at the age of 18. Mark Deosdade, one of the lead roles in the Canadian teen drama series Edgemont, was cast in 2000; Zamprogna went on to appear in every episode of Edgemont's five seasons. Zamprogna has appeared in nine episodes of Battlestar Galactica, as well as in several films.
Zamprogna played Dante Falconeri in ABC's daytime soap opera General Hospital in 2009. In 2014, Zamprogna was nominated for outstanding supporting actor for his role. He revealed in June 2018 that he was leaving the soap and had shot his final scenes. He made a few short appearances on the soap, first in November 2018 and then in March 2019. In May 2020, he expressed a desire to return to General Hospital, even to the point of agreeing to a contract if one were given. Zamprogna would return to the role in July of the same year, marking his first appearance in August 3, 2020.
