Dean Joseph Norris (born April 8, 1963) is an American actor.

Hank Schrader, the Drug Enforcement Administration agent, appeared on the AMC series Breaking Bad (2008-2013), for which he received critical acclaim for his role.

He also appeared on CBS' Under the Dome (2013–2015) and now plays mob boss Clay "Uncle Daddy" Husser on TNT's TNT series Claws. Norris has appeared in films including "Lethal Weapon 2 (1989), Hard To Kill (1990), Terminator 2: Recall (1991), The Cell (2006), Sons of Liberty (2015), and The Book of Henry (2017).

Early life

Dean Joseph Norris was born in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from Clay High School in 1981, where he was the class valedictorian. He appeared on WNDU-TV as a student and was a member of the award-winning student-produced comedy show Beyond Our Control. He attended Harvard College in 1985, where he concentrated on Social Studies' interdisciplinary branch and was a member of Hasty Pudding Theatricals. In 1987, he received a diploma from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Personal life

Norris and his wife, Bridget, a former entertainment lawyer, live with their five children in Temecula, California. The couple opened the Norris Performing Arts Center in Murrieta in 2018.

In June 2017, Norris was accused of raping a 32-year-old woman from Ohio. However, in February 2018, the New Orleans police refused to sue him, citing "insufficient evidence."

Norris is a member of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, his hometown team.

He introduced Schraderbräu, Hank Schrader's in-universe home-brewed craft beer, as a registered product in 2019.

Career

Norris appeared in Tremors: The Series and the film Without Limits. He has appeared in several television series, including NYPD Blue, The X-Files, The West Wing, and Lost, as well as Gattaca and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Hank Schrader, a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent, appeared on Breaking Bad from the show's premiere in 2008 to the show's final season in 2013. Norris' appearance on Breaking Bad has received critical acclaim.

Norris has also appeared in the CBS series Under the Dome. He plays selectman James "Big Jim" Rennie, the only member of the town council of the area that is cut off from the rest of the United States. Clay "Uncle Daddy" Husser, the TNT series Claws' president, as of June 2017, plays him.

Norris reprised the role of Agent Hank Schrader on-screen in the Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul in 2020 during the show's fifth season.

Norris appeared in a lead role on CBS sitcom United States of Al.
