Mystic Meg's mother used to be a household name and shattered BT records with her horoscopes

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 9, 2023
Mystic Meg, the renowned astronomer, had a jet black bob, snow white complexion, and a vivid red lipstick, often paired with a cape. And after four decades in the industry, including her iconic National Lottery appearances, brand launches, and extremely popular columns, it's safe to say the soothsayer's name is synonymous with optimism. But watching the stars - and becoming a celebrity - was not intended for the'seer', who died on Thursday after being hospitalized with the flu for the first time. Meg, a.k.a. Meg, of Romany descent, was born in Lancashire in 1942 and grew up in a terraced house in Accrington. Meg's Russian gypsy grandmother, who teaches her astrology, thought she was 'talent' to forecast the future and gave her the fabled crystal ball that would be integral to her readings. The ball will gather dust, but Meg had intended on becoming a tutor and gained her teaching diploma before being on stage. However, fate had other plans for Meg, and she began as a sub-editor for the now defunct News Of The World newspaper before advancing to deputy editor of the weekend supplement, according to the writer. When she rebranded as Meg Markova and became the newspaper's astrologer, she would make the switch to horoscopes in the 1980s.

After Trump used song in his 2024 tweet, Isaac Hayes' estate says it's investigating court action

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 16, 2022
Over the past year, the song has become a signature walk-out tune for Trump at his campaign-style rallies. Isaac Hayes' family became aware on Tuesday night, but they weren't concerned. The song was co-written by the respected American musical artist, who died in 2008, and David Porter co-wrote it. "Once more, Isaac Hayes DID NOT approve the usage of "I'm coming" by Sam and Dave by Donald Trump at his 2024 Presidential inauguration today,' the musician's website revealed late Tuesday night. 'We are considering several court options to avoid this unlawful use.'
