Labour council threatens to turf green-fingered pensioners off allotments that have been used in Welsh village for 100 years - so they can expand nearby primary school

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 22, 2024
Because of promises of a replacement allotment site that are yet to bloom, the green-fingered growers are refusing to lose the plot in the pitched war. The Labour-run council intends to confiscate allotments used for more than a century in Kenfig Hill, near Bridgend, South Wales, in order to expand a neighboring primary school. Members of the allotment said they are eager to move to a new allotment and want the school to continue, but that they have had little contact from the council. The council has since postponed the deadline to March 11 and also states that if they don't leave, court action will be taken.
