David Gandy Life

David James Gandy (born 19 February 1980) is a British model who began his modelling career after winning a televised model-search competition.

For many years, Gandy was the lead male model for Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana, who featured him in their campaigns and fashion shows. Gandy's robust build caused some menswear fashion designers to rewrite requirements in a market dominated by skinny models.

The increase in his fame and name recognition resulted in a large number of magazine covers, editorial photo shoots, interviews, and industry awards.

He has continued to work on fashion-related and personal projects, including writing auto reviews for British Vogue, writing automotive reviews for British GQ, mobile app design, and charity work.

Personal life

Gandy has two children with his partner, barrister Stephanie Mendoros.

David Gandy Career

Modelling career

Gandy was born in Billerica, Essex, England. In his youth, Gandy aspired to be a veterinarian, but his grades were not strong enough to meet the required requirements for that field. So, while researching multimedia computations, he went to work with Auto Express, bringing the most recent Porsches and Jaguars to the track for testing. When researching marketing at the University of Gloucestershire, Gandy's flatmate introduced him (without his knowledge) into a modelling competition on ITV's This Morning hosted by Richard and Judy in 2001. The 21-year-old Gandy won the competition, and the prize was a deal with Select Model Management in London. He dropped out of university a few modules shy of receiving his honors degree in order to pursue modelling full time next year.

Gandy modeled for a variety of businesses, including Shiatzy Chen, 7 for all Mankind, Zara, Marks & Spencer, Gant U.S.A., Hugo Boss, Russell & Bromley, Carolina Herrera, Massimo Dutti, and others during his early years, including Shayne Jones, Morgan & Spencer, Matthew Perry, & Co. He became the face of Dolce & Gabbana in 2006, appearing in their clothing campaigns and fashion shows annually, as well as male models including Noah Mills, Tony Ward, and Adam Senn.

Gandy is best known for the 2007 advertising campaign for Dolce & Gabbana's fragrance "Light Blue" with Marija Vujovic, which attracted 11 million online hits and included a 50-foot billboard of Gandy on Times Square, which included a 50-foot billboard of Gandy. He modeled for Dolce & Gabbana's 2008 calendar, shot by photographer Mariano Vivanco. Gandy relaunched as the star of the second "Light Blue" fragrance series in 2010, but it wasn't until Anna Jagodzinska that it came to a new place. Helena Christensen produced "Away We Stay," a short promotional film for W Hotels.

In 2011, the fashion house published David Gandy by Dolce & Gabbana, a 280-page photographic coffee table book of images chronicling their years of collaboration. Four magazine covers and five fashion editorial photoshoots were shot in the same year. He appeared on 16 magazine covers, appeared on 18 fashion interviews, and modelled for Banana Republic, Lucky Brand Jeans, El Palacio de Hierro, and Marks & Spencer in 2012. In addition,, Gandy was named as the brand ambassador for Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

Dolce & Gabbana launched the third iteration of the "Light Blue" fragrance collection in 2013, which also included Gandy. Mario Testino filmed the commercials and commercial on location in Capri, southern Italy, this time with Italian model Bianca Balti in the female role. "David Gandy's Goodnight" is the name of a British shoe brand marketed by Bionda Castana, a British shoe brand. In it, the prince seduces many people who later discover that he had stolen their shoes. On September 26, Gandy and Jaguar unveiled "Escapism," which featured Gandy driving models such as the C-Type, the E-Type, the XKSS, and the new F-Type. Marks & Spencer's 2013 Christmas advertising campaign, "Magic & Sparkle," starred Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Carter and Gandy, as the fairy-tale-themed commercial featured Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Helena Bonham Carter and Gandy.

ANDREW PIERCE: Target embassy fat cats, Sadiq, not ordinary drivers

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 14, 2024
ANDREW PIERCE: He's denied all knowledge of it, but London Mayor Sadiq Khan has spent £21million plotting a pay-per-mile road-charging scheme to drain the capital's drivers of yet more money. But why does he bother? Under his nose sits a hefty pot of gold. The world's diplomats, who flit around London's embassies in chauffeur-driven limousines, have racked up a staggering £143million in unpaid Congestion Charge fines. According to Transport for London, the US embassy alone owes City Hall £14.6million for not paying the £15 daily charge - so much for the 'Special Relationship'. The next-worst offender is the Japanese embassy, which is on the hook for £10 million, while the High Commission for India owes £8.5 million, the embassy of Nigeria £8.3 million, while even our French neighbours need to cough up £4.8 million. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Russians have let their tab slide, owing £6 million - likewise Beijing's £8 million bill.

It's a truth universally accepted that the right smell would make a man instantly more attractive, as opposed to the assault of a double gin and tonic. It's a double whammy.

I use My Nanna's Mousse. Larry King, my hairstylist for years, has created an amazing product. It's about using a product before your hair dries, not just sticking pomade or wax later.
