Career

Avery's first on camera role appeared in the third series of Sofia's Diary in 2009. Flex, the lead cast member of the series, appeared throughout the film. Sofia's Diary, a Sony Television production, was one of the first online web series to make the transition to UK television. Rikki Beadle-Blair wrote and directed Fit, Avery's first feature film project. Avery appeared in Nicos in The Inbetweeners Film just short of. The film went on to smash UK box office records for the first weekend. Avery appeared in the Monologue Slam UK's June issue in 2012. Actors will compete against each other by presenting monologues to a non-expert audience. Avery received the first prize for his performance, "Nowhere in America" by Bathsheba Doran.

In the multi-award-winning web-to-television game Brothers With No Games, Avery is also known for his role as Marcus Graham. Since the first episode was released online in June 2012, the series has developed a large international fanbase. With the public interest so high and winning six awards at the LA Web Festival 2013, Avery and the cast members returned for a second series. The show's fame attracted the attention of London Live and went on to be broadcast in 2014. At the first ever Screen Nation Digital-iS awards, the lead cast of the program also went on to win Favourite Web Series Ensemble.

Since joining the cast of CBBC's The Dumping Ground, Avery's television appearances continued. Victoria Alcock and Avery Jackson appeared together in Kingsley Jackson. The family was a hit on the first series, to the point that they were asked to return to the show for a Christmas Special episode called "Jody in Wonderland." The film received two Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes.

Avery appeared in Borderline, a retro-scripted comedy film based on the work of UK Border Force employees at the fictional Northend Airport later this year. Avery has received a number of accolades for his work as Agent Tariq Mansour. "For instance, there's Tariq, a failed DJ and one of characters whose attempts to inject genuine humour into his role with subtle timing and a good line in kill-me-now-I-hate-my-life facial expressions," the Guardian wrote.

In 2017, Avery appeared in Lost in London opposite Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson. As it was shot in real time, it was the first film to be broadcast live into movie theaters around the world. The film was shot in a single shot at 24 shooting locations and included car and foot chase scenes.
