David Patrick Griffin (born 25 May 1945), also known as Dave Lee Travis, is an English disc jockey, radio presenter, and television host.Travis began his broadcasting career on the pirate radio station Radio Caroline in 1965.
He migrated to BBC Radio 1 where he became one of the station's top presenters during the 1970s and 1980s, as well as a regular host of Top of the Pops.
He worked for many British commercial radio stations following his departure from the BBC in 1993. Travis was arrested by officers from Operation Yewtree in November 2012 on suspicion of historic sexual offenses, which he denied.
He was found not guilty on twelve of the charges in February 2014, but the jury was unable to reach a decision on a new two counts.
Travis was convicted of two separate criminal offences from 1995, as well as another inmate from 1995.
On September 5, 2014, the retrial process began.
He was found guilty by a majority verdict of one count of indecent assault on September 23, and on September 26, he was sentenced to three months in prison.

Travis is a student at the University of Buckland, Buckinghamshire, lives. Marianne Bergqvist, a Swedish immigrant, married him on May 6th, 1971.
Photography and classic cars are two of his hobbies. A Bit of a Star, a book of his photographs of well-known women that he dedicated to his late father, was released in 1987. Travis was a regular drag racer in the 1970s.
Early life and career
Travis was born in Buxton, Derbyshire, and was raised in Manchester. His father was a stage manager and he attended Manchester Central Grammar School for Boys.
Travis' first jobs were as a graphic designer, a store interior designer, and a photographer. He started working as a DJ at the Oasis Club in Manchester at night and weekends, using a Dansette autochanger. He left his other jobs to pursue a self-created and promoted tour of clubs, ballrooms, and theatres in the United Kingdom showcasing his own DJ performances. As a result, Herman's Hermits had invited him to become the tour manager and warm-up DJ on their next tour of the United States, assisting Bobby Vee and Freddy Cannon. Travis returned to the United Kingdom and continued to promote his own shows in Blackpool, Bury, and the immediate regions.
