David Brent Keuning (born March 28, 1976) is an American guitarist and songwriter best known for his role as the lead guitarist of the rock band The Killers, which he formed with Brandon Flowers in 2001 and with whom he has released five studio albums.

Keuning has appeared on every show with the Killers since its inception until the 2017 show at Lollapalooza in Chicago.

He is currently on a hiatus from The Killers.

Keuning's name Keuning announced in 2018 that he would debut Prismism under his surname Keuning's name.

Personal life

Brent Keuning was born and raised in Pella, Iowa by parents Charles and Sandra. Kevin Keuning, his older brother, is his only brother. He began playing guitar right before entering Pella Community High School, where he performed in the jazz band. The organization was crowned state champions class 3A in his senior year. Keuning moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2000. In The Venetian Hotel and Casino on The Strip, he worked.

On October 20th, 2018, Brent Keuning married Emilie Keuning.

Kyler Keuning, his one son, was born on September 17th, 2005.

Career

Keuning appeared in the local Las Vegas Weekly ad attempting to form a band, quoting Oasis as one of his influences. Brandon Flowers, who portrayed Keuning's love of organisations such as New Order and the Cure, replied positively, only to have Keuning promptly hand over a TASCAM-recorded four-track demo of "Mr. Brightside."

Although Keuning revealed in August 2017 that he would not be touring in support of their fifth studio album, Wonderful Wonderful, although he will remain a member of the group. Keuning did not appear on The Killers' sixth album, Imploding the Mirage, in 2011, but the band reformed in studio in early 2021 to work on their seventh album, Pressure Machine.

With the debut of his first single "Restless Legs" under the moniker Keuning, he began his solo career. The collection of new music, created by Keuning in his San Diego home studio, was taken from hundreds of voice memos stored by the Killers during the previous decade that developed into songs. Prismism, Keuning's debut album, was released on January 25, 2019, and it is a series of 14 tracks with almost all instruments played by Keuning himself.

The band was booed towards the end of their show in Batumi on Tuesday after inviting a man to perform drums with them during 'For Reasons Unknown' until the show ended. They announced to the audience in the former Soviet state that they came from the neighboring country, which had invaded them in 2008.
