Darnell Williams Career

Career

Jesse Hubbard appeared on All My Children in 1981. His character was entangled in a love affair with Angie Baxter, a middle class boy (Debbi Morgan). The characters eventually married, and thus Darnell Williams became one half of the first African American supercouple on an American soap opera. Williams received two Daytime Emmy Awards for his 1980s work on All My Children. Both he and Morgan co-hosted "New York Hot Tracks" in the mid-1980s, which also featured music videos.

Williams left All My Children in 1988. Nonetheless, Jack Durban appeared on As the World Turns in 1994 as Jack Durban; the job lasted until early 1995. On Loving and The City, Williams appeared as Jesse Hubbard's look-alike Jacob Foster. He briefly reprised his role on All My Children, but in angel form, as he welcomed Gillian Andrassy (Esta TerBlanche) into Heaven in 2001.

Williams played as the counsellor on the primetime drama Felicity and as a producer and acting coach for All My Children on a regular basis.

Williams appeared in Guiding Light in May 2007, a man who A.C. Mallet was once employed as a hit-man. From June 2007, he appeared in Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell in New York City. Williams and Gregori J. Martin co-directed the independent film Manhattanites, starring Ilene Kristen, Forbes March, and Aiden Turner, Williams' co-star.

Williams and Debbi Morgan, who played Angie Hubbard, joined All My Children in January 2008. In 2011, he appeared on "Oprah- the Last Season" with castmates Debbi Morgan and Michael E. Knight.

Darnell Williams and the rest of the cast ended his performances on All My Children in September 2011 due to the serial's cancellation. Williams, the longest paid male actor on the show and the second oldest contracted actor after Susan Lucci, was the oldest male actor cast member.

Williams would appear in The Young and the Restless on CBS daytime in January 2012, where he would reunite with All My Children co-star Debbi Morgan.

Williams resurfaced in the latest web version of All My Children, resuming Jesse Hubbard's role. On the 29th of April 2013, the new show premiered on iTunes, Hulu, and Hulu Plus.

Sidewalk Stories, Short Cuts, and Simone are among Williams' film appearances.

Williams did not appear in the All My Children reunion, which was on the 2nd February 2017 edition of the Hallmark Channel's Home & Family show. However, Home & Family did include a video of Williams as his Jesse Hubbard character from Greg Nelson and Jenny Gardner's wedding (played by Laurence Lau and Kim Delaney, respectively) on All My Children.
