Danny Pintauro (born January 6, 1976) is an American actor and film director best known for his role as Jonathan Bower on the hit American sitcom Who's the Boss? His appearance in the 1983 film Cujo as well as his appearance in the 1983 film Cujo.

Early life

Pintauro was born in Milltown, New Jersey, the son of John J. Pintauro, a manager, and Margaret L. Sillcocks. He took time off from acting and attending Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey, and then Stanford University to study English and theater in 1998; he graduated in 1998.

Personal life

In 1997, the National Enquirer tabloid declared him gay. Wil Tabares, his girlfriend, was engaged to him in April 2013, and the couple married in April 2014.

Pintauro revealed in 2015 that he was HIV positive, having contracted the virus as a result of poor oral sex in 2003. He also admitted that he had previously been addicted to methamphetamine.

Career

Pintauro appeared on television soap opera As the World Turns as the original Paul Ryan. In the film Cujo, he appeared as Tad. He appeared on television show Who's the Boss? He was less often cast after the series ended. Pintauro went on to appear in stage productions such as The Velocity of Gary and Mommie Queerest.

He appeared on a special television child stars episode of The Weakest Link in 2001, where he was disqualified in round four.

Pintauro was both a Tupperware sales rep and a restaurant manager in Las Vegas.

In 2016, Pintauro and his husband moved to Austin, Texas. Pintauro is a vet tech at Austin Pets Alive as of May 2019.
