Erica Danielle Rhodes was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but she was raised in Dallas, Texas. Vega is a mix of African-American, Spanish, British, Cherokee, and Irish descent. Vega earned a degree in journalism from Southern Methodist University. Vega is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
Career
Vega appeared in Barney & Friends, the children's TV program. She applied for the ninth season of American Idol in 2009, but was later rejected in the Hollywood Week auditions.
