Early life
Kertesz was born in Ramat HaSharon, Israel, to a Jewish family. Gabriel Kertesz, her father, is an architect. Dorothy is a mother who speaks in English. Kertesz is the youngest child in her family.
Kertesz spent her childhood in Jerusalem, Israel, in the Yemin Moshe neighborhood. When she was 15 years old, she and her family moved to Tel Aviv.
Kertesz herself did not serve in Israel military service because her father was in an anti-aircraft unit and her brother is a helicopter pilot, but she did not serve in Israel due to her being a conscientious objector. She immigrated from Israel when she was 18 and lived in the United States.
She is currently in a relationship with Israeli photographer Yotam Menda Levi as of 2018.
Career
Kertesz started dancing at the age of three and attended the Rubin Academy of Music and Dance. However, she spent her summer in Jerusalem before going to ninth grade, and the casting director gave her an audition for a new television series. She was invited to perform in the Israeli television series Reds (Adumot), which was created by brothers Uri Barbash and Benny Barbash at the age of 14. After being asked to leave the boys' team, Noa Sperling, a 15-year-old soccer player who formed a girls-only team, was the main protagonist. The program aired for two seasons.
She appeared in two series after being produced by Irit Linur in which she played Tamar, the teenage daughter of a twice divorced father. On the Yes satellite network, Kertesz appeared in the drama "Masks" series.
Kertesz came to fame as a missing 17-year-old Hagar Ben David in 13 episodes of the 2008 Israeli Channel 10 series The Naked Truth (Ha-Emet Ha'Eroma). "Le'ehov et anna" is a word that describes Avia, an innocent girl in Israel Channel ten's Loving Anna ("Le'ehov et anna").
In the 2013 film World War Z, Kertesz played "Segen" (meaning "first lieutenant" in Hebrew), a junior officer in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) assigned to shield Brad Pitt's character. She auditioned for the role in Tel Aviv and then with producer Marc Forster and the producers, and later in Malta.
AfterDeath, a psychological thriller that was released in 2015, was also scheduled to attend World War Z 2, but the program was ultimately cancelled in 2019.
Kertesz appeared on Israeli hit show Shtisel in 2020, portraying an art dealer for her family's trust who has a bipolar disorder.
