Music career
Currensy was signed to Master P's No Limit Records in 2002, becoming a late addition to the 504 Boyz. On the 2003 film Malibu's Most Wanted soundtrack, 504 Boyz, produced by Donald XL Robertson, was included. Currensy appeared on five tracks on Master P's Good Side, Bad Side album. Despite being signed to No Limits, he was still representing C-Murder's TRU brand. Currensy has recorded several songs with C-Murder, as well as being featured on the late Soulja Slim's album Years Later (2002).
Currensy was signed to Cash Money Records and Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in 2004. Before with Young Money, he appeared on Lil Wayne's mixtape Dedication 2, The Suffix, and several unreleased songs. In 2004, he introduced Welcome Back, a mixtape. On Tha Carter II, he appeared in Lil Wayne's "Grown Man." Currensy formed Fly Society with skateboarder Terry Kennedy, first as a clothing company but then expanding to release music when still at Young Money. In 2006, he released "Where Da Cash At" as the lead single on his Young Money debut, Music To Fly To. Life at 30,000 Feet, a 2007 mixtape, was released. He remained with Young Money until late 2007. Currensy launched Independence Day, his first project since leaving Young Money and the first of seven mixtapes to be released that year, although he started out as an independent artist.
Currensy joined Amalgam Digital in 2009 to release This Ain't No Mixtape, his debut album. Monsta Beatz's album was entirely produced on this record. Currensy was also selected to the XXL magazine's annual "Freshman Class" list, and in the same year, the Jet Files, his second album, was released by Amalgam Digital. On May 31, 2010, Amalgam Digital published physical copies of This Ain't No Mixtape and Jet Files.
On July 13, 2010, Currensy's third album, Pilot Talk, was released. Snoop Dogg, Big K.R.I.T., and others appeared on the album as guests. Amongst others, Ski Beatz produced the majority of the songs, including Mos Def and others. The announcement of Pilot Talk on the album's release was confirmed under Roc-A-Fella Records, which has recently relaunched. Currensy denied that the album would be released under Damon Dash's DD172 record label division, BluRoc Records, and Def Jam Recordings. Currensy appeared on labelmate Ski Beatz' debut studio album, 24 Hour Karate School, which was released on September 21, 2010.
Pilot Talk II, Currensy's fourth album, was released on November 22, 2010, featuring Fiend and Raekwon, among others, as well as some of the Ski Beatz songs. Mixtape Smoke Robinson with DJ Don Cannon was also available in 2010.
Currensy signed a Warner Bros. Records imprint, Jet Life Recordings, on February 1, 2011. Covert Coup was his first venture under Warner Bros on his Jet Life Recordings imprint. The album was released for free on Currensy's official website on April 20, and it features ten songs entirely created by The Alchemist. On June 28, 2011, he released a mixtape at Burnie's Weekend, starring his Jet-Life anthem "#JetsGo," which was designed by Rahki. Monsta Beatz, a regular collaborator, produced the remainder of the mixtape. The album Jet World Order was released by Currensy and his Jet Life crew in 2011 under the heading Jets International / iHipHop. Almost every track on this album features Young Roddy and Trademark da Skydiver. On this album, prominent Currensy collaborators, Smoke DZA, The Cool Kids' Mikey Rocks, Cornerboy P, Fiend, Street Wiz, and Nesby Phips are among the many Currensy collaborators. Currensy revealed the official debut of a new album on November 10, 2011 through Twitter. Muscle Car Chronicles, a two-disc set, was released on February 14, 2012. Currensy also planned to announce Pilot Talk III in 2013, hinting at the possibility of it being a free album. Currensy unveiled the EP on February 2012, and Styles P. released another EP #The1st28 a few days later.
The Stoned Immaculate's track listing was announced on April 21, 2012. Currensy dropped an EP in July 2012 that featured all production by Harry Fraud, Cigarette Boats. He revealed the mixtape Priest Andretti on October 31, 2012.
Live in Concert, Wiz Khalifa's new tape, will be released. Currensy provided an update on his and Wiz Khalifa's mixtape Live in Concert in November 2012, saying that sample issues were preventing the release of the album. Currensy announced in January 2013 that the mixtape would eventually become a retail store collection due to these same court problems. On April 20, 2013, it was announced as an iTunes Only EP.
Currensy debuted his latest mixtape New Jet City on February 3, 2013, including Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, Jadakiss, Juvenile, Trinidad James, and Rick Ross among others.

In January 2014, Currensy debuted The Drive In Theatre, a new mixtape. Action Bronson appeared on January 26, 2014, a sequel to "Godfather 4" starring Jim Crow. Currensy took to Twitter on February 4, 2014, the first time Currensy announced a release date for The Drive In Theatre, which was announced on February 14, 2014.
Currensy and Ski Beatz revealed on Twitter on January 17, 2013 that they were going to make Pilot Talk III. With Currensy's participation in various interviews, the album has been in continuous development ever since, including potential guest appearances from Lil Boosie, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Ab-Soul, French Montana, Action Bronson, Jadakiss, Styles P, and Riff Raff, along with some production from Cool & Dre. Currensy revealed the album's potential artwork on his Instagram page, which was also responsible for the production of the first two Pilot Talk albums. DJ Skee unveiled Styles P and produced by Ski Beatz on March 1, 2015. Currensy revealed on March 15, 2015, that he would be releasing Pilot Talk III exclusively on a $100 USB drive, "bundled with a Jet Life shirt and a Pilot Talk 3 look book," as accompanying music videos. However, he also hinted that the album might be available for download. The bundle was available for pre-order on the Jet Life website, but it also confirmed that it would not be released on iTunes. On April 4, 2015, it was scheduled to be published. In 2016, he released 12 mixtapes.
