Vee was born in Norwalk with mixed Mexican, Lebanese, and Native American roots, as well as raised in the Los Angeles area. When she was younger, she wanted to be an animator, but after watching Sailor Moon, she was inspired to go into voice acting. She had attended Anime Expo a number of times as a fan and participated in the AX Idol voice-over competition. In 2004, she served on a voice-over panel where she assisted with some of the computers and then was given a card by Wendee Lee to appear on several shows with Bang Zoom. Samurai Champloo is a fictional character from Saurai Champloo's entertainment. Kanaria in Rozen Maiden was her first big role. She studied Theatre Arts and graduated from California State University in Long Beach in 2007. In 2008, she appeared as the title character in Aika R-16: The Familiar of Zero, and Nanoha in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. In the promotional videos for her second The Melancholy Suzumiya series, she portrayed Haruhi Suzumiya, as well as other events.

In 2011, she played Mio Akiyama in the school music comedy K-On! Squid Girl stars Nagisa Sait and Squid Girl. Alisa Bosconovitch, a Japanese writer, appeared in the anime film Tekken: Blood Vengeance in the United States, helping promote the film at American anime conventions. In Puella Magi Madoka Magica's 2012, she voiced Homura Akemi. In Nura: In the Ikki Tousen series, she played Princess Yo. In Magi, she represented Morgiana: The Labyrinth of Magic and the Honoka sisters, as well as the Knights of Sidonia in 2014. In Viz's re-dub of Sailor Moon and the new Sailor Moon Crystal series, she was chosen to portray Sailor Mars. Vee compared Rei's voicing in Crystal to her character in the original series because her story is more serious and regal than her character in Crystal.

In 2015, she starred Noel Vermillion in BlazBlue Alter Memory, Compa in Hyperdimension Neptunia: The Animation, and Hawk in The Seven Deadly Sins, the last of which was released as a Netflix original series. In the Viz Media English dub of Hunter Hunter's 2011 anime version, she sang Killua Zoldyck. In 2021, she sang of Vivy in the Bang Zoom! Vivy: The Original anime film Vivy: Fluorite Eyes Song is available in English.

Vee has been involved in several animation projects. She launched a Kickstarter campaign in March 2012 to produce an animated music video in collaboration with Cybergraphix Animation and Studio APPP. "Cristina Veecaloid," Skullgirls creative director Alex Ahad's character was later developed into an iOS game called Veecaloid Pop released in 2015. Vee was instrumental in voice casting and directing the Skullgirls video game and web series in 2012. At the 40th Annie Awards, the game was nominated. Vee landed the English voice role of title character Marinette Dupain-Cheng (aka Ladybug) in the CGI animated film Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir in 2015. The show premiered on Nickelodeon in December 2015 and has aired on Netflix and now Disney+ & Disney Channel. Vee and the other English dub voice actors brought a lot of energy to their characters, according to executive producer Jared Wolfsen, and Vee and the other English dub voice actors are just like Ladybug – sweet and helpful and so fun to watch. Vee introduced Verosika Mayday, a fictional character in the web series Helluva Boss, and appears in "Spring Broken" and "Ozzie" in February 2021.

Vee has been involved in voice-overs for video games, mainly with English localizations of Japanese titles made by Atlus USA and NIS America. Noel Vermillion in BlazBlue, Velvet Crowe in Tales of Berseria, Riven the Exile in League of Legends, Four in Drakengard 3, Compa in Pokemon Masters EX, 14-Amp and 5-Volt, as well as the title character's arch-nemesis Risky Boots, as well as the title character's arch-nemesis Risky Boots. Indivisible, a crowdfunded game that was crowdfunded with a total amount of $1.5 million on December 2, 2015. She has produced and directed the voices.

In August 2017, she and YouTuber Nathan Sharp (NateWantsToBattle) released a cover of Charlie Puth's "Attention" by a narrator. Give Heart Records, an indie record label, has also signed her.
