Cristiano Melo Arajo (January 24, 1986 – June 24, 2015) was a Brazilian singer and songwriter. Ara jo sang of "Efeitos" (2011), "Você mudou" (2012), "Maus bocados" (2014), "Cê que sabe" (2014), and "É com etou" (2014).
He released his solo studio album Continua in 2013 after his album Efeitos in 2011 and live álbum/ DVD Ao Vivo em Goiânia in 2012.
In 2014, he released In The Cities, Ao Vivo em Cuiabá's third live album.
Due to his unexpected death, the majority of his new songs will not make it to a CD. He was signed to the Som Livre record label in Brazil.
Career
Cristiano Arajo was inspired by sertanejo from an early age in Goiás. Cristiano was born from a musically inclined family, with four generations of musicians and singers. Joo Reis and Zenaide Melo's parents aided him in their search for a career as a musician and bought him his first guitar at 6 years old. He was doing public performances and shows by age nine. He was writing songs at ten years old. He recorded his first EP and performed it on a Brazilian television program called Festival do Fausto, age 13. His album was out, and he quickly climbed to No. No. 1 on the charts. "Regio centro oeste" (the midwest) charts show 6 positions on the local "regio centro oeste" charts. He was then offered the opportunity to perform one of his songs on a "young talents" or "Jovens Talentos" CD, which would boost exposure around the country. Cristiano was still a youth at the time, yet again.
Cristiano will appear on television shows and main events in the years to come. He and his twin sister Ana Cristina formed a pair at 17 years old. They will record many songs and perform together for the next six years. However, they were unable to achieve much commercial success, and they were only well known locally.
Araujo went solo in 2010 at the age of 24. He had much bolder ambitions for his future. In preparations for a live CD and DVD, he started performing and recording with already-established sertanejo artists and duos. In early 2011, he released Efeitos as a soloist with appearances by Gusttavo Lima, Humberto & Ronaldo, and Jorge (from the famous duo Jorge & Mateus). Cristiano, a longtime friend, wanted to keep his newly established fame with a country-wide tour, with lots of praise from Jorge (duo Jorge & Mateus). In the peak of the tour, he appeared in front of huge audiences and sold-out venues. He appeared on 117 shows in one year (2011–12).
Cristiano was thrown on to the culturally relevant talk show Domingo do Fausto due to all of the newfound interest he had received. This opened the door to some famous, Brazilian performances such as the Sertanejo Pop Festival 2012 held in So Paulo, Fernando & Sorocaba, Israel & Rodolfo, and Joo Reis among others. In 2013, he released Continua, his first studio album.
In 2014, he released In The Cities, his last DVD, which was held in Cuiabá (Mato Grosso). The DVD has a more than 40 tons equipment structure, meeting the latest in technology, with international standards. One of the most notable news is that an application that was exclusive to the American CIA and Hit Music, and it would give the audience a direct link. The unique feature of this megaessóculo is international artist Ian Thomas' participation, who was only 17 years old.
