Club career
Manea, a young footballer from Aggiea, Constanța County, Manea, is a youth advocate for Viitorul Constanța Constanța, who made his Liga I debut on April 21, 2014 in a 0–3 home loss to FC Steaua București.
An investment fund purchased the player's rights and Manea arrived in Cyprus in 2014 at Apollon Limassol. The transaction was estimated to be €2.5 million. Previously, Romanian media reported that he had been sold to Chelsea for about £2.3 million, but the rumors were untrue.
He spent the 2014-2015 season on loan at Viitorul, and scored his first senior goal on April 13, 2015, defeating Petrolul Ploiești 2–1.
He joined Royal Excel Mouscron in Belgium on a season-long loan, which was extended for another year. Before returning to Romania on June 27, Manea made 18 appearances in all sports before returning to Romania on June 27, 2017, joining CFR Cluj also on loan. In his two years with the club, he was undisputed starter, winning back-to-back national championships.

Despite having only made five club appearances at the time, he was called up to the senior team by coach Victor Pițurcă in May 2014. Manea made his debut against Albania on the 31st and later became Romania's youngest footballer, breaking the previous record set by Graţien Sepi in 1928.
He scored in a 2–0 friendly victory over Finland at the Ilie Oană Stadium in Ploiești on June 5, 2018, his first senior goal.
