Residents of a rural town are furious after the local council announced that a new suburb would be built on the outskirts of their town, afraid that it will become a'slum of the future.' In the new suburb of Badagarang, in Nowra's north, Shoalhaven City Council, they are expecting 3,500 new houses to be built, in the hopes of 'helping to lessen the burden on the current housing market.' On February 24, the 425-hectare suburb's boundaries were gazetted and stretched along both directions of Moss Vale Road in between Bomaderry and Cambewarra Villages, one of the two remaining suburbs. Locals are concerned that the new development would bring more strain on a neighborhood that is already "bursting at the seams" due to a lack of infrastructure. For the city's estimated 22,584 people, there are only two hospitals - one public and one private. A new 425 hectare suburb in northern Nowra, Badagarang, on the NSW south coast, has been announced to the confusion of locals who are already fed up with lacking infrastructure
