Craig Ward Anton (born August 28, 1962) is an American actor, singer, and comedian.

Mr. Pettus in Lizzie McGuire and Lloyd Diffy's Phil of the Future is best known for his role as Mr. Pettus.

Early life

Anton was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, as the eldest son of Antoinette (Akromis) and Arthur Ward Anton. Toni and Megan have a younger brother, Brian, as well as two sisters. Anton graduated from Omaha Burke High School in 1980 and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1996.

Personal life

In September 1994, Anton married Lesley Gray. They have twin daughters. They now live in Savannah, Georgia.

Career

Anton began acting as a child in Omaha, Nebraska, and made his name as a stand-up comedian at the age of 17. He appeared in comedy clubs in 1978 while in high school. He earned his B.A. at the University of Nebraska in 1983. In Theater and English, there are two main characters. Anton began his career as a college circuit comedian in the 1980s. He travelled through the Middle East in 1984 as part of an all-comedy USO tour, spending two months in Turkey, Greece, Bahrain, Israel, and Spain, each with troops. He was named Showtime's Funniest Person in Nebraska in 1985. Anton moved to New York City in the late 1980s and sought some acting work, then migrated to Los Angeles. He currently works at SCAD in Savannah, Georgia.
