Corey Sanders Life

Corey Sanders (born March 7, 1975) is an American boxing coach and former professional boxer.

Sanders' most notable win, nicknamed "T-Rex," came in an unexpected knockout of respected Oleg Maskaev in 2002, which temporarily suspended Maskaev's hopes of competing for a title.

Michael Grant, Andrew Golota, DaVarryl Williamson, and Timo Hoffmann were among Sanders' most notable opponents.

Sanders is perhaps best known for his wild brawl with Golota, with both fighters trading heavy blows on the inside and Sanders getting a horrific, deep cut above his left eye.

Corey Sanders Career

Amateur career

Sanders started boxing in 1993 at the age of 19, and had a brief amateur career before transitioning to professional in 1994.

Professional career

Sanders attracted burgeoning media attention in late 2006 as he defeated former undisputed heavyweight Mike Tyson in a world tour match that was designed to help pay off Tyson's financial obligations. Tyson fought without headgear against a head-geared Sanders, and Tyson seemed to be holding back throughout the bouts to avoid a premature end to the performance.

Dennis Bakhtov defeated him in six rounds, his seventh defeat in a row. His most recent professional record includes 23 victories (15 KO) and 13 losses out of 36 fights.
