Joseph Crawford (born April 20, 1978), also known as Clayne Crawford, is an American actor.

Martin Riggs' role on the Fox action comedy-drama television series Lethal Weapon (2016–2018) is well-known.

He also starred Teddy Talbot on the critically acclaimed Sundance drama Rectify (2013-2016), for which he was nominated for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Crawford appeared in both A Walk to Remember (2002) and Swimfan (2002).

Bobby Long (2004) and The Great Raid (2005), as well as The Great Raid (2005).

He has appeared in a few small independent films that were not widely distributed.

Life and career

Crawford, a clay, Alabama, son of Brian, a computer engineer, and Lennie Crawford. He was on the football and wrestling squads by high school, and he graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School.

In 1996, he went to Los Angeles to look for theater as an actor. He tended to support himself while appearing in small theaters often. He went from Joey to Clayne in 2000, a play on an ancestor ("Clan") and his hometown (Clay, Alabama).

Mitchell "Mitch" Cafferty appeared in the first season of Jericho as Mitchell "Mitch" Cafferty. He appeared on Life in the episode "Evil... and his Brother Ziggy." Crawford was the protagonist of the 2010 straight-to-DVD prequel to Smokin' Aces, Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball.

Kevin Wade, a young, enigmatic man, appeared in the eighth season of 24 as a recurring character. He appeared in the first and second seasons of A&E's The Glades.

In the Fox television revival Lethal Weapon, Crawford portrayed Martin Riggs beginning in 2016. Crawford was fired from the show after two seasons and replaced by new character Seann William Scott in May 2018, despite warnings of poor conduct and incidents of hostility between cast and crew on the show's set. Damon Wayans, his costar, resigned soon after.
