Personal life
In 1967, Williams married actress Gloria Foster. Foster and Stewart were together on The Mod Squad; Foster made two guest appearances. The two actors appeared in a 1964 film The Cool World. They filed for divorce in 1984, but they remained friends. They had no children at the time. In 2001, Williams announced Foster's death.
