Craft Recordings and Hammerstein revealed on Wednesday that a new super-deluxe version of The Sound of Music album, which features well over 40 previously unreleased tracks, will be available on December 1. The super-deluxe collects every musical element from the classic 1965 film for the first time, as well as 11 never-before-heard alternate takes, including rare performances from the Julie Andrews-led cast.

Since a warning to audiences that the musical touches on 'Nazi Germany and Austria's annexation have been criticized, a new theatre performance of The Sound of Music has been criticized. Any of them, according to attendees of Chichester Festival, where the revival of the event will begin next week,'may find certain themes distressing.' The theatre performance, starring West End actress Gina Beck (pictured left) in the role of Maria von Trapp, will run from July 10 to September 3. Maria, a young nun sent to be a governess to the von Trapp children in Austria right before the Second World War, is the subject of the musical.
